I am surprised seeing the positive reviews. I couldn't find anything positive during my stay. The antique, olden era architecture are just gimmicks to attract people. I was there with my wife and 2 year old child. We were given a dead rodent smelled room. When inquired, the owner came with a room fresher and handed over and asked us to spray when ever we felt bad. No TV, No heater and time tabled AC (The lady have a controller in her room, I guess. She switch it off often and I need to call her each time to switch it on). Over all very bad experience. The stay completely ruined my vacation.

Indians - Better stay away. The host would only be pleased to see foreigners as their guest. Location was calm but stay was just average as I needed to follow up frequently to turn the AC, heater etc. A lot of activities were promised over phone during my 3 days family trip to Nilambur. Since nothing was there to do for 3 days, we left one day early. It took a lot of effort to get a 50% refund on the 3rd day's stay. The host was not at all friendly or professional. PS: Get confirm well in advance on the facilities that you need in room, else you may end up with a disastrous stay.

We had a perfect start to the year all thanks to Eadens Hermitage . Staying in the olden era architectured rooms were a great experience. The swing gave back nostalgic memories. Not to forget the delicious homely food made by Mrs.Renu :)

Had a nice short stay in Hermitage with family. Enjoyed the homely food of kerala for two days. Ample space with vintage amenities. Cool headed professional host without any interference. Ideal for couples/families and small groups.

A good first stop to non-touristy Nilambur with a very welcoming host who went out of her way to help us and provided a great introduction to Keralan home cooking. It was great that she adjusted the spice factor to suit our palate. Renu also gave us many ideas of what to do in the local area and was happy to answer any questions and help with any problems. The house itself was very dark and hot and the shower facilities were basic. However there was air conditioning in the bedrooms. If you want to have an Ayurvedic massage then we suggest you organise it yourself as it was expensive via the hostess. Thank you for your kindness.

Demo Trip The rooms upstairs are both spacious and lovely. We had the one with the bathroom and a bathtub, as well as an air conditioner. Close the wooden shutters at night and it is very quiet and we found no bugs bothering us.
