We reached the hotel after a 12plus hour journey from Shimla, so when we checked in the room we were happy to have chosen to stay here. The room was spacious and looked good on first sight.
When we checked the bathroom, we saw toilet which didnt look clean, we called the housekeeping and asked them to clean the toilet, the housekeeping person started to argue that it was clean, we were adamant it wasnt and he half hearted cleaned it . We should have switched the room but we were too tired to do so and we just crashed. Next day when we came back from our site seeing we saw the toilet was cleaner than what we found when we checked in. On the day of check out we requested for something from house keeping and it came after 20 plus mins. I could understand if the hotel was fully occupied , but when I stayed there were only 4 more rooms occupied.
Coming to the good part of our stay. We stayed on the ground floor(Room 325) and got a side river facing room. We woke up to birds chirping and tweeting and sound of the river flowing which was very peaceful. Also we could see snow clad mountains from the balcony of our room which was good.
The room was spacious, bed was comfortable and lines clean. Room had a tea\coffe maker, TV with cable . They provided a heater in the room which helped in the cold Nov nights.
The bathroom had a bathtub and a shower. On the first night we did not have hot water available in shower, however hotel offered to provide us with hot water in buckets. The next day we got lukewarm water, but considering the climate was around 1 degree we were happy with what we got.
We had breakfast and dinner included in our package. For breakfast the options were decent . One thing that really annoyed me was we were getting late for our site seeing so I asked the hotel staff to provide us with a couple of pan cakes as take away so that we can save time, I was told they cant do that and I have to eat in the hotel itself. I found this odd and have never faced such an answer ever.
The dinner had a buffet option and the spread was good. The quality of food was good and portions in large quantities. Since there were only 5 rooms occupied the staff served dinner in our room. The wait staff was good and appreciate the help of Amit, Surinder, Rohit . Mr Bhagat the floor manager of restaurant was very helpful, one night they had mutton in the menu, I requested if they can provide me chicken instead and he arranged for it immediately. That was really nice on his part. Hotel also had a bar section, though we did not use it.
One can also have breakfast in the lawn enjoying the view, unfortunately during our visit such option wasnt available.
While I was clicking pictures with my wife in the compound, we met Mr Omprakash an elderly gentleman from the hotel. He offered to click pictures of me and my wife without me asking him to. He just took the initiative. When I look back at the pictures he took they came out fantastic, I am glad we met him. He really made the trip memorable.
Another person needs a mention is Mr Puneet Kashyap , the front desk manager. I had contacted him when we had booked the hotel and he was helpful in planning my itinerary . During our visit he was helpful in guiding us. Mr Shamra from the front desk was also helpful.
Hotel has sufficient parking and is away from the hustle of Manali.
I had a good stay here barring the unpleasant experience with the housekeeping.
Stayed from 23rd to 25th Nov 2018
Sayed for two days. Previously I was very much confused about location of the hotel. However reaching there I was very much happy with the calmness of the nature. The only sound comes through my ear is the flowing river. Always a better option than crowded places around Mall road. Room quality was good. Food was also good. Staffs was very much humble, specially the manager who was handling the restaurant.
Stayed at this property for 3 nights at the river view room. Getting up every morning to breathtaking view is just priceless. The staffs are very accommodative. Food is good. However, the rooms can be improved a little bit more as it seems run down. Some stains on the bathroom flooring can be a put off but nevertheless, will still come back when I am in Manali next.
Out stay with citrus was excellent. It had the moat amazing view from the balcony.Manager Mr.Puneet Kashayap was fantastic host. The room service was quick.
Breakfast and dinner was really nice.Esp.Amritsaro chole, masala omelletes and indian food(chicken boneless was good).

December is the best month to visit Manali and if you're looking for a stay..then i must say Citrus Manali resort is a must....It was a college trip so it was too much fun with friends. The staff over there is very cooperative...and the best thing is cleanliness and hygiene of the resort with big spacious rooms...we also had a bonfire and singing and it was all in total a fun stay...and yes they serve really good food too...Bingo
