The Experience during stay at The Golden Tulip Manali, Manali, was excellent, awesome and unforgettable. We had a couple travel program in Manali, India and we stayed 01 (one) night at The Golden Tulip Manali, Manali during our travel at Manali, India. The Hotel is situated in a very good location with excellent view. We stayed in 01 (one) Double Deluxe Room for 01 (one) night. The room was excellent with all amenities, facilities, interior, Wi-Fi and architectural design. The attached bathroom was also very good. The all type of services in the Hotel was excellent. The staffs were excellent, polite, well dressed and well equipped with type of knowledge and skills. The hotel staffs showed very good manner, behavior, attitude, mindset. All hotel staffs have shown positive attitude and positive mindset towards their job / tasks. Also the Hotel has very good restaurant with excellent food facilities. The quality of food is excellent with good taste. The hotel offers variety in the foods maintaining excellent quality and taste. The staffs of the restaurant were also excellent, polite, well dressed and well equipped with very good manner, behavior, attitude, mindset. We (I and my family) enjoyed every moment during the stay at The Golden Tulip Manali, Manali, India. We wish all the best and all the success to The Golden Tulip Manali, Manali, India.
Please dont get fooled by the so-called location of Golden Tulip. Its located on a narrow strip of road facing the river in Old Manali. The road is almost always cramped with pollution spewing vehicles, partly overtaken by roadside eateries and shops and hence even walking on this stretch is difficult.
The rooms providing river and mountain view are just a sham because the road in front always looks shabby besides the other hotels located in close proxmity on both sides are an eyesore. From our room, we could see dogs lying on the terrace of a ramshcakled hotel on the left and garbage on the street, All in all, the hotel is located in a dirty surrounding.
Coming to the hotel. Its old...like almost caught in a time warp. Every inch of this place screams the 80's. It was surely taken over by Golden Tulip and hence the rooms and bathrooms were given a revamp. But the common area looks dated. The floor in the restaurant is dirty and chipped, mat in the lift is torn, bedding/sheets look old, furniture upholstery hasnt been changed in years. They dont even provide a cot for extra bedding in the room- only a mattress. The atmosphere is depressing to say the least.
The food served here is pretty ordinary. Truly avergae fare. But the worst part is the location where the buffet is organised. At the landing above the ground floor. Its almost like a governement canteen. They keep a plastic tub right next to the salad bar for the dirty plates to be kept. Yeeksss!!! The restaurant where you sit and have your meal provides a road side dhaba experience. Dirty floor and decaying furniture.
Their Willow restaurant outside is also average, It does provide great views provided you dont look below at the madness on the street and the dirt on either sides of the hotel. Also dont even try having anything from Willow bakery...they dont use gloves and when asked for a pastry they pick it up with bare hands and hand it over straight to you just like that...where the hell is hygiene?
Golden Tulip was a forgettable experience. Only positive thing I would like to mention is that the staff was polite and helpful (most of them). They were doing their duty in whatever atmosphere they got.
We stayed for 4 night from 9 june - 13 june in the room No.s 205/206/207 overall its a good property to stay in manali
Overall our stay at the hotel was satisfactory.
Good food with enough options in Buffet
Hotel staff was decent enough be it be room service , front desk or other staff
The only lil problem is with the congestion on the route to reach hotel , but in this nothing hotel can do
Recommended property to stay
Beas river facing rooms is the TIP for the travellers
