Nice I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Breakfast was nice and tasty. Only sad part was evening we could not get nice tiffin when we came to the hotel very hungry. Only pakodas available.

I stayed at GoldFinch Hotel on 7th night along with my wife. The room and bathroom was pleasant and very clean when we arrived. However, the room that we booked was meant for two 'single' occupants rather than two people. There were two separate single beds in the room, which made it very uncomfortable for my wife and I to sleep on. The beds kept moving away from each other which left a gap in the middle. This was inspite of the fact that I had called the hotel earlier and advised them that I require it for my wife and I. They didn’t think it was important to mention that there were single beds rather than a double bed. When I asked the reception later in the morning, they mentioned that a double bed is available only in the Executive or Executive Club room (dont remember exactly which one it was). Otherwise the staff was nice and pleasant to speak to.

it was good stay at goldfinch for 1 night at my business trip to manglore. Location is very good close to main market. particularly my room was very small (room no 303) Room was neat and clean. facilities are ok.Room service rates are too high compared to the class of hotel. staff was supportive and responsive.Restaurant (at top floor) food was good breakfast was also nice. in my opinion hotel not very good at this price.I think its overpriced.

Well, this place was on my list for a long time and long due. So, when I was in Mangalore this time around I checked into this hotel even after the recent reviews suggesting that the rooms were looking jaded and the furniture bad. Again, I was more optimistic so to say I was let down would be very disappointing. The cot had a wornout look, the mattress was worn-out though it did not slump in and did not give me a backache. The bathroom was bad without the counter around the wash basin with lot of stains due to overuse/less maintenance. The shower knob was very hard to pull and you could easily get drenched if you did not observe closely while turning the tap on. The door of the shower cubicle does not close properly and all the water gets out of the cubicle. The staff are courteous and so nothing much to mention about them. The restaurant where the breakfast buffet was organized was quite airy and pleasant. The spread was meager and by 0900 hrs the juices were nearly empty and was not filled up as the breakfast time was till 1030 hrs. The breads were very little for this hotel's standard and the size of the bread was small and looked like the ones you get in bakeries. Something I really cannot fathom is that they served tea which was cold and I am a tea lover and take it very seriously add to this the tea bags were overused and not new. My friends mentioned that even the coffee that they had was below average. Well, some thing I have mentioned before and now again is that these hotels are not built for self-driven cars and if you try to park your car yourself as I do always then you are in for surprises. Firstly, there won't be a lift for you to get back to the lobby leave alone to your floor of the room but then the parking area itself is so small and cramped that you will wonder how does a four star hotel manage this.

We are travelling in India for 5 weeks and just needed a one night stopover in Mangalore so booked The Goldfinch as it seemed pretty good and there isn't a lot of choice in Mangalore. Then just before staying I noticed the poor reviews and they really had me worried....but no need, from the moment we walked through the door the staff couldn't have been more charming and helpful from the maid who cleaned the rooms to the front desk and travel desk staff who organised a visit to the temples and churches, to the restaurant staff...all just great. And our room was immaculate with crisp white linen and very comfortable beds. We ate in the restaurant on the 8th floor and everything was so good, with the staff guiding us through the menu and offering recommendations when asked. I think it's a shame some people have had a bad experience lately but can't really understand it as ours was exceptional from start to finish. We thought we would dive in and out of Mangalore and thanks to the Goldfinch we saw some of what this great city has to offer and I would recommend anyone to give it a try...clean vibrant and interesting. Thanks again Goldfinch.

Booked this hotel online, but when I reached I needed an additional room which the hotel accommodated. Rate of room when booked at the venue was considerably cheaper. The rooms are just about ok, but bathroom are not. Everywhere you can see that it needs maintenance, or it appears quite old. The quality of sleep was good. The breakfast was good too. The location of the hotel is very good. The worst experience I had was with my car. I gave my car for valet parking, but when I got the car back, it was really dirty. They had parked my car in an open space in the hotel where external cleaning of the building was going on. All the dirty water fell on my car and the hotel did not even bother to clean the car. They gave it to me as if this kind of thing happens. These small things really spoil the whole experience.

The room 401 we got was the upgraded 'executive room' ; it felt nothing like an upgrade . Mattress tops , the quilts and bed covers were dirty ; think bloody and unwashed. And housekeeping refused to replace the mattress tops as they didn't have extra according to him. Smelly toilets drains Never coming back.
