We spent wonderful 5 days in the hotel. Amazing beach, helpful people, nice and clean cottages, relaxing gardens, animals, birds... and tuk-tuk can take you to the places hidden to turists. It was difficult to leave and we will come back for sure! Many thanks to the staff to make our holiday so special!

This lovely resort is set in lush countryside, spreads out across beautiful gardens and spills out onto the most cleanest beaches I have seen in India. The room we were given was closest to the reception area, it was spacious, clean and had a nice bathroom. The biggest problem I had was the mattress, I woke up with a rather bad back ache in the morning. The gardens and well maintained and offered plenty of running space for our 2 year old son. It would be nice if the open ponds were fenced off in someway, a little bit worrying when you have a young child running around. The restaurant and pool area is nice although the restaurant can feel a bit cramped and busy. The food options are great and the dinner buffet offered a nice spread, although we chose to order a la carte. The restaurant manager was missing on both evenings we were there, this led to some confusion with our order. All in all a nice place with great potential, a few tweaks and this could be a great little resort.

Calm and average. Calm and average.

Went to Abad Turtle with my family in December. It's a very long drive from Cochi airport and the traffic makes the drive worse. The hotel is average and the rooms are very average. The beds were very average. The washrooms are big but can do with an upgrade. It's a large area but some areas are not maintained properly. Food is good. The people are also nice. But you tend to get bored after a day. You can go the the beach, and use the pool and walk in the vegetable gardens. It's a long way from Cochi town and traffic is bad.

Serene, homely & welcoming with beautiful garden surroundings and easy access to beach Serene, homely & welcoming with beautiful garden surroundings and easy access to beach

We loved spending our first few days in Kerala at Abad Turtle Beach. It was the perfect place to recover from jet-lag and our long journey from the UK. Staff were so warm and welcoming and keen to help with any issues we had - Shijo (sp?) on Reception was extremely kind and helpful. Despite the relatively basic facilities, we had a very comfortable stay. Each room is airy, self contained and has its own veranda and hammock overlooking the beautiful landscaped gardens. The resort also offers a pleasant infinity pool surrounded by coconut palms as well as a very peaceful Butterfly Garden (perfect for yoga!) and Organic farm/garden. There is easy walking access to a nice, quiet stretch of Marari beach - where staff provide towels and sunbed mattresses. I have to say that we were sad to find that the beach (and this applies to the full stretch of it, not just Abad's section) is very polluted. We didn't feel able to swim in the sea as it the sand seemed to be full of tar and oil, which stained our feet. As this is meant to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, it's sad to see that its not being protected or managed properly by the authorities. But it is still very beautiful! The restaurant food was excellent, with a wide-range of vegetarian dishes available - the evening buffet with live traditional music was particularly special. Our only points for improvement would be to update the showers as the hot water wasn't terribly reliable, although this wasn't too much of a problem in the heat. It would also be nice to know a bit more about the use of fresh ingredients from their organic garden in the restaurant dishes. Overall however, our stay far exceeded our experiences (of service, in particular) at much higher rated hotels elsewhere in Kerala :)

We loved this place every thing were there for a holiday from good reception neat and clean bungalows, excellent pool and a good beach.there are greenery around you and you feel relaxed.Food was excellent and was the staff every one took care of us.the village tour organized seems to a good idea if you are on long stay.Ayurveda at the spa again made us feel pampered. The buffet seems to be pricey affair at the dinner time so we preferred to order from the card and found the food appetizing and economical.Ask for the fresh catch in the evening to the reception they will arrange a grilled fish or barbreque.Infact this is aplace for long stays and relaxation, avoid if you are in a hurry city tour or short tour.

Demo Trip The whole resort is quiet but if you want to be closer to the beach and have a hammock to relax take a villa rather than a cottage.
