Rating 2 just only bcoz of location and a little friendly staff even with many short comings..!! Cons : *Food quality needs lot of improvement *Food serving time is too late, dinner served after 10pm!! Vegetarians are even more worst affected *Water quality is so worst that I had doubt whether to take bath or not bcoz more dirt will get on you if you take a bath..!! *If you take driver with you they treat them in worst possible way..!! My driver didn't touched ateany food there after 1 dinner they served to him..!!

Masinagudi - A retreat at Madumalai national park Masinagudi - A retreat at Madumalai national park

by traveller1530 on January 6, 2017

Being a biker, we frequently go for rides. And this was our last ride of 2016. It was for a weekend ride from Bangalore (Around 250 km one side). Masinagudi is in Tamilnadu state in Madumalai national park region. It is a small town situated in the forest at the foot hills of Ooty. There are a number of resorts to stay which are suitable for both friends group and family. We stayed at Bear Mountain Jungle resort. The location is very good and early morning we spotted elephant and deer in the resort surrounding. Peacock and wild boar are also common sighting in the nearby places. One needs to take Forest department organised jungle safari to go further deep into the jungle to see the big cats. It is a very nice place to spend a weekend away from the hustle of city life. They provided separate camp fire facility for individual groups which was the best part. Food was good at the resort with unlimited buffet system but only improvement point would be that veg and non-veg to be kept separately as some pure veg people might feel uncomfortable.

Nice Property, Great Hospitality & Ambience can be made better Nice Property, Great Hospitality & Ambience can be made better

The property is right on the foothills and has a fabulous Nilgiris hill view. The indoor and outdoor activities they had was sufficient enough for our team of 11 people say from volley ball, shuttle, cricket, cards, carom etc... The night campfire arranged by them was splendid and we all felt happy for the time spent together. Interactions with David has always been smooth & great. The no BS guy. Mr Rex's & other staff's hospitality has no words to explain, they are awesome. All the stories shared by Rex were really fantastic and a nice person to be with. Overall it was a memorable trip to us. I enjoyed being there. As a true well wisher, here are few rooms for improvement. - Shower towels can be changed daily - Bath room water had mud mixed with it. Can thing of having a basic purification system - Wait time for water heater is certainly a pain, when you've 4 people sharing the room. can think of alternative heating system or a boiler room. - 1 or 2 chairs inside the room permanently, will be helpful. Though they've got chairs, at night everything is moved toward the campfire area and finding them in the morning becomes tough. - Food was good, but the Coffee and Tea were pathetic. Certainly can be made better. - Charging for refrigerating a beer bottle wasn't needed at all. After all, most resorts do it for free of cost. - The ceiling fans arrangement: At night you don't need them. However when you need it during day, it works but the purpose is not met. Ceiling fans are 2 feet away from the bed and clearly the air is not reaching the bed at all.

A good jungle resort to stay in Masinagudi. Please don't expect any resort like facilities here.It is in the wild. But you can enjoy the tranquility of the place!. The staff behavior is good, special thanks to Mr. Chandran and the property manager Mr.Rex The food served was Avg. The property is often visited by wildlife, we had some guests the time we stayed there:)

Very bad place and management . Completely fraudulent, would rip you off your money. What they display on website is a totally different picture. They almost charge double. Not for couples or family. Not great service. Please stay away from this resort.
