Camp Fire, Camp Fire, Camp Fire Camp Fire, Camp Fire, Camp Fire

by karthik m on February 1, 2017

"Sir, we are providing you with a camp fire. Sir, we are giving you camp fire." This is the chant made by the owner of this place, Mr. Sudheesh, when we asked him why such a high tariff for the rooms provided. In other resorts, for the same charge, they were providing safaris, treks, had swimming pool. This resort, De Rock, had nothing else but breakfast and Mr. Sudheesh acted as if he was doing us a favour by letting us stay there. His No.2 guy was even worse, who refused to give us cutlery since we had got food from outside. Basic humanity was missing from this resort people. Its approach road is laden with cow dung, and the resort people are full to the brim with human dung. Do yourselves and your family a huge service...take a detour from this kind of jungle living. Only attraction here are a couple of rottweilers and a doubberman..all kept in abysmal conditions.

De rock - a bad experience De rock - a bad experience

planned a getaway with friends on 30 Dec 16.Did booking in Oct 16 directly from hotel website. however hotel did not Book our room n didn't even inform us. on calling up to confirm our reservation, the hotel staff ,one mr sudeesh George was evasive, aggressive n refused to accept any responsibility fr the fiasco. on the contrary he directed us to the website guy to sort out our issue. it was evident that he had taken a booking from another party who had given him the full payment as compared to us who had given him part payment. this all happened despite the fact of US having received a confirmatory e-mail from the resort. our whole itinerary was spoilt with us having literally no place to stay on the 31 Dec 16. the de rock resort staff especially mr.sudeesh George behaved in a impolite, unprofessional and cudnt care less attitude. an extremely poor experience. .....not recommended fr anyone...... patrons are requested to exercise caution wen dealing with Jr sudeesh George. I hope the concerned people are listening! !!!!!

This is apt for people who are looking for a stay in jungle as we saw a lot of deer near by our room.. Also the room interior represents wild life.. Food was good bt expensive.. And we may need a jeep to commute.. Additionally they will take care of trekk activities also..

Cottages are well spaced out and each comes with a small outdoor balcony/ veranda. Rooms are well kept and clean and are decently furnished. Property is spacious with plenty of natural greenery and open spaces to walk around. Note that this is not your typical concrete jungle which a lot of resorts these days are. This is a bunch of cottages in the middle of no where. Once in side, you can barely see anything else close by except open plains, some hills and trees. So the name! Having been through some reviews, I think people have been overly critical of the food here. We found atleast the non-veg options of totally acceptable quality and reasonably priced. When you are in some jungle down south sometimes its more prudent to not request for a paneer butter masala or a Manchurian. Instead one is always better placed to try something local, may be a sambhar rice or a chicken chettinad. We had a good time here and soaked in some nature, would definitely recommend.

I had visited De-Rock Jungle Living resort on 26-27 Nov 2016 with my family (me. wife and a 4 years old son). The resort is huge in terms of space. The facilities including restaurant, campfire, sports etc are well maintained and are really good. Food was good. The resort's General Manager Mr. Sudeesh George is a gentleman who not only helped me to get a cake to celebrate my wife's birthday but also helped me in arranging pick-up/drop and jungle safari.
