Vikram is an amazing host, I have visited jungle hut twice ,once with friends and once with family. Vikram ensures you feel at home when you are at jungle hut. The location is awesome. I had taken the elephant safari by the forest department, and then a jeep safari. We sighted a herd of elephants, bison, deers, the safari ended with a dam site. It was really amazing view. Awesome experience.

The Best Food In Southern India The Best Food In Southern India

by Lucylocket24 on February 17, 2017

4 friends stayed here for 3 nights as part of a month long Birdwatching trip to Southern India. The food was the highlight here. Every single thing was homemade/grown. Having worked in the catering industry for more years than I care to remember I really appreciated the care that went into preparing every single meal. I could have lived on the homemade mango pickle, curd and poppodums. It was all seriously good! The resort is very nature based and you can't wander about alone at night. Wild animals also call it their home. Just wonderful. The rooms are rather dated and are in need of a refurb. To our taste the beds and pillows were rather hard, not good when you are desperate for a good sleep, but I'm sure the owners are aware of this and are modernising bit by bit. Rome wasn't built in a day. But they are very clean which is the main thing. The only thing we missed here was the availability to make a pot of tea. Yes, it could be ordered but took ages. I think travellers have got used to a kettle in the room nowadays, but failing that maybe the basics could be left out in the restaurant? Out of sight of the monkeys of course! So yes, we would certainly recommend Jungle Hut.

Couldn't be better Couldn't be better

We wish we had booked our whole holiday here, Unfortunately we only stayed 2 nights. On arrival; check in was smooth and everything explained fully (something you don't get everywhere). I was sick with a bad flu and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I was brought tea as soon as they realised I wasn't well and made special home remedies to drink which really did help. The meals are served in a lovely dining room which is open at the front to enjoy the views (and actually the dining room looks a lot better in real life than the photos on this website). All meals are buffet and served between particular times so you can choose when to eat - each window is about 2 hours. There was a fantastic range of veg and non-veg and you can put in requests to some extent as I was made a non-spicy soup when not feeling well. And desert was more like what you would expect, strawberry moose and a crumble, in comparison to curds which are served at most other places we stayed. Our room was lovely, just what we were after, with a great view of wildlife right outside your window. they are basic rooms but both bedroom and bathroom was large and clean - no bugs! You can have wildlife trips arranged to walk around the local area or out into the reserves by jeep and they even have a masseuse. I really can't recommend this place highly enough if you are looking for a place to relax and get close to nature but still have a proper bed and shower. Oh and surprisingly... Internet is freely available in the dining room. Considering some of the city hotels we stayed at on our trip didn't have internet I think this is pretty good.

Pictersque location with wildlife at your doorstep!!!! Pictersque location with wildlife at your doorstep!!!!

We stayed at jungle hut for one night and it was very beautiful and scenic overlooking the hills. Deers stroll around just near your rooms and that was a fun experience. We could also spot many langurs hanging around. They help you with the jungle safaris and luckily we spotted some elephants, peacocks, wild boars and sambar deers. Food was very good and tasty. The rooms have a rustic feel but amenities are all modern. This is also a good place for birdwatching. Great place for a weekend getaway.....

Into the Jungle for Fun Into the Jungle for Fun

Sorry Vikram and team for a delayed review from my side. We stayed for 3 nights which to me is the minimum length of stay one should have. Jungle Hut is an excellent establishment being managed and run by Vikram and his team in the beautiful jungles of Masinagudi. The breakfast lunch and dinner spreads are well thought off with variety for all. We being from North India were a little adverse to aaloo paranthas on day one and this was changed to local south Indian cuisine after one simple request. Do not hesitate to ask for local food. The beef is wow. The property is very well maintained and is neat and clean. The deer's that are on the property will be right next to the cottages in the morning and early evening before they settle on the property lawns. The mongoose and birds are visible in plenty along with the flying squirrels. Go for a walk in the morning with Vikram on the elephant trails and the temple on the hill. Its refreshing. We will be back in 2018 god willing. :-) PS Sorry i habe forgotten the names of all the wonderful persons who took care of us.

Demo Trip A/C not required unless its the summer months. Super deluxe rooms are at the edge of the jungle. All rooms are equally well-positioned.

by Chotothera on January 22, 2017

Demo Trip deluxe ac rooms are a little further away from the centre and more calmer and private

Demo Trip It was an awesome stay. Comfort, hospitality and management was definitely very good. The homemade bread and jams, pickles and chutneys were fantastic. Sharon and Mr Manish were good host. The ambience makes you feel very relaxed and gives you the jungle feel. The swimming pool was well maintained.the activities for children were amazing. Would definitely visit again for a more pleasant and long relaxed stay. Bought a pickle jar home and relished it. The night Safari exciting exciting. Children were enthralled
