Enjoyed my vacation stay in this property. It is located a bit high for comfort but the hotel ambiance is good. My room was very decent. The room service did an appreciative job, also the food served was tasty. This is an above average property.

being a resort hotel at foot hills of ooty i was not expecting a great experience, even my call to the resort asking the amenities came with a reply that there is nothing much to watch nearby and they have only sports activities inside the resort like carrom, TT and so on. The reort looks a bit far on paper, but if one is used to taking the msainagudi road shortcut to ooty, there is not much problem in finding the place. Its a huge property with large no. of cottages and machans, all well maintained. The reception desk and the service team all were very coordial. Only flipside was they where not ready to serve alacarte and htier buffet was a wooping 450+taxes taking it over 550rs for 1 person. I magine oyur food bill if u have couple or more meals. Food was decent nothign much to compalin about, i somehow maanged to convince them to serve me a few paratas and a veg curry instead of the buffet meal, but seriously the bill for just that came 700rs But peop-le you dont need to get put off by this, if you have a vehicle then the masinagudi town is hardly a few kilometers where i could manage few good hotels. So you can htink of taking 2 trips for your lunch and dinner and rest of the time enjoy your stay at the property. I would consider visiting again at a more cooler period provided i convince myself to step out for food or add the huge food bills in to my travel costing.

Access- We went from B'lore followed GPS, road are good until we entered Bandipur National park, they are narrower with pits and hole, it continues till resort. Reached Masinagudi town then for directions to resort asked locals, and also called resort guys. Parking- You can park your vehicle near your room in open. Staff- Cooperative and helpful. Nearby attractions- 1.One hill behind the resort with temple. Short trek to hill is quite a experience. 2.Ooty is around 30 kms from resort we took Coimbatore Ooty Gundelpet Hwy which has lot of hairpin bends, took us arnd an hr but while coming back we drove around 69 kms which took 2.5 hrs via Gudalur (longer conventional route) as the previous route was made one way due to heavy traffic (it was long weekend). Do not drive in evening or night due to lack of street lights in forest and rough roads. Safety- Resort is safe. Food- Food quality at resort is good but not much options to choose from. Room- Average, had TV and Fridge. No electric kettle for tea/cooffee, no locker. Ambiance- The resort is good place for you to spend quality time with family away from crowd and pollution. Resort has got beautiful scenic view thus provides good shooting site,so be camera ready:) Overall as a couple, we had quite relaxing and nice experience.

The place: The resort is owned by Mithun, and is one of the many properties that he owns around Ooty area. This place is perfect getaway from the noise and chaos that has become characteristic of city life. The serene, calm and tranquility that surrounds you here is worth the stay. Imagine waking up to the sounds of chirping birds, and a picturesque setting where you are surrounded by nothing but the majestic nilgiri mountains. To top all this, the resort is spread in a vast open stretch with just the right amount of greenery to comfort your eyes, and good tracks for those who love to jog. There are in house animals like pony, hen, rooster, chicks, rabbit, and birds. The joy we saw in our kids when they could see these within arms reach, is unforgettable. The Service & the comfort: The best part about this place is that it is a home away from home. The Machan's are full of all modern day comforts. I think there are AC as well as non AC machans. This time I stayed in AC machan, just because we thought it might be hot. The room is spacious, so is bathroom which is equipped with a bath tub. King sized bed, and a sit out 3 meters above the ground makes you feel like a real king. The service was prompt, and they even allowed our better halves to enter kitchen and cook baby food. Special requests for baby food are also entertained. The food: The food was decent. Since it was a long weekend, they had buffet spread for lunch as well as dinner. At Rs 450 for non veg and 350 for veg, it was priced just about right, although they could do better by adding a few more items. Buffet lunch was complementary. Last time when I visited, I ordered a la carte, and the taste was awesome. Activities: It might do good by having a swimming pool, or by providing more TV channels in the room. However personally, I am not a big fan of swimming, or TV during a getaway from city. I was happy to trek up the mountain which was not steep, and the base of which was literally 10 meters away from our Machan. This was my third visit to this place, the first being in 2008, and the best part is that I have not seen any downfall in maintenance of the property, quality of service, and the quality of food. Shall be happy to go any time again.

The property was well connected to the city so not to bother about traveling. The management was excellent and their arrangement was systematic. The room service was instant and food was outstanding. I will strongly recommend this gorgeous property.

Lacks maintenance Lacks maintenance

An absolutely fantastic property and staff.. but marred by poor approach and lack of maintenance.. apparently rains have failed and the greenery was missing. lighting in the area was poor and going to the dining area after dusk was tricky. The security guard was ever helpful with his torchlight, but may have found it difficult to escort all guests. The food menu lacked imagination and could have been better. Staff very courteous..being a jungle type of a resort, they should have information available for the guests that we could do there. The rooms were spacious and good, but TV channels a disppointment

Family Reunion- Great Location Family Reunion- Great Location

by ibis27 on January 3, 2017

The place is rather out of the way and so ideal for getaway. There are no sign boards pointing to the location, since , there are restrictions by forest department. Google maps was accurate though. The manager Mr.Durai was extremely accomodative and gave us wonderful support and advise on daily activities. The food was awesome and the staff were pleasant and quick to rectify any issues. The rooms were all comfortable though the lighting is very low. would help to have good lighting in bathrooms and dressing area. Jungle safari was organised by the manager on our request and it was very satisfying. Though I have seen reviews that it sometimes a waste of time. We were driven by jeeps ( 6 to7 per vehicle) and managed to see Elephants, peacocks, Sambhar, boars, Spotted deer, Langurs etc. The turnaround point was a dam with nice photo oppurtunities.

Good but needs maintenance. Good but needs maintenance.

by Kaushik R on December 26, 2016

This is good property, nice location , large area, good views, good food, friendly staff. But the property badly needs maintenance, none of the lawns are done and in little unclean, many structures require maintenance, you only get a little attention once you check in. Also the lightings in the room are very poor. Simply put it was a great property now falling in its own weight die to the lack of maintenance. There is a lot of scope for improvement. Also for the price that is charged, what you get is average.

One of the most peaceful and beautiful resort in Masinagudi. We stayed in Machans and it was spacious for 3. Clean and neat bathrooms. Food was amazing. We had all our three meals there and was spicy which was good for the cold climate that prevailed there. You will find space for outdoor activities and games as well as indoor games such as Foosball, Table Tennis and Billiards. You will also get a tree top meeting space for 30 members for some events to conduct. Overall a memorable stay.

Demo Trip Bungalows are farther away from dining area, but have best views. Cottages and machans are equally spaced around the central dining area.
