Very bad accomodation & badly maintained rooms. Will never recommend anyone for stay. Surprised to see Brightland with this sort of accomodation! Though rooms were empty we were asked to wait & when forced were given options.Have been to mahableshwar Brightland & so opted for this but very bad experience.Preference was given who paid cash & not to us who had booked in advance.

a decent mid range hotel a decent mid range hotel

we took a 3 night package that included a pickup and drop facility from mumbai and for 3 people they gave us a dupleix room .pl be prepared to walk a good 40 -60 minutes from the parking area ,because no vehicles are allowed in the town .the roads are not concrete so be ready with good walking shoes .you may engage a horse but we preferred to walk ,its refreshing indeed . the hotel has good buffet food ,quite a spread and they look well after you. the rooms are average, though comfortable. lot of activities ,pool, table tennis, indoor games ,walks, horse riding . careful of dogs and monkeys ,and the horse owners, fix price before hand .

Excellent hotel ! Excellent hotel !

I stayed at bright lands for 3 days with my friends ! The hotel has a huge property with big rooms , large swimming pool and a garden ! Check in was smooth , staff was courteous . The swimming pool is huge and it easily accommodates a group of 20-30. Food is great . This hotel is very reasonable and best if you are travelling with your group of friends ! Only thing problematic is monkeys everywhere but that problem is faced at all hotels in Matheran .

this resort is a beautiful place to stay in matheran and is a bit cheap compared to other 5 stars in matheran. the food is also really nice but u will not get italian and other kinds of continental food. only food available out here is indian and u may get a little choice in chinese.

Good place for a family trip or even with friends specially if you are visiting Mumbai. Rooms were decent and had all the required basic amenities. Basic site seeing or tourist activities are the various look out points and horse riding.

I understand; this isn't the Four Seasons. And yes, it's in something of a nature preserve. But it's filthy and unpleasant at best, with clueless apathetic ignorant service on a good day, and downright terrifying at night. The bed. OH the bed. Entire musculoskeletal systems in wracking pain -- I didn't know that all parts of my whole pelvis could hurt at once. The closest experience I've had to the bed was being hit by a car. The next morning, I asked the man at the front desk if he could do something about the bed. By mid day EVERY. SINGLE. STAFF MEMBER. of the hotel had mentioned that they'd HEARD about my problem with the bed -- but not a single person had done ANYTHING about it. I ended up simply picking up an extra mattress from an unoccupied room and carrying it across the compound to add to my bed. The monkeys. Rabid (?) wild monkeys EVERYWHERE. Stealing your food at breakfast; taking your coca cola; cornering your wife in the room. The monkeys walk in the front door of the cafeteria and help themselves to the buffet. They go down the water slide and drink from the pool. They scream and claw at you in a threatening manner. AND the staff. Aside from EVERYONE knowing that my bed was the thickness of a Kleenex and doing nothing about it, I asked the bartender for a Gin and Tonic. It was as though I'd asked him to stuff a camel with a goat stuffed with a lamb stuffed with a turkey stuffed with a chicken stuffed with a squab. He had NO IDEA what might possibly go into a Gin and Tonic. Minutes later, he returned to inform me that the bar is fresh out of tonic water. In India. Okay, I said, just gin then. A few MORE minutes pass, and he informs me that the bar is now out of GIN! Lastly, late at night I was thinking of going to the staff to purchase an extra bottle of water. But they had EXTINGUISHED EVERY LIGHT IN THE COMPLEX: leaving us at the mercy of utter darkness in a monkey-infested jungle. Do yourself a favor and simply insult a police officer -- they'll arrange better accommodations for you in the local jail.
