Decent hotel, with clean rooms and the staff were very helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel for families & senior citizens.
We booked three rooms here in late November. Hotel Madhuvan is a pretty decent hotel and the standard hotel in the town. Our rooms were spacious and maintained well. We had breakfast in the restaurant, it was fine. Its good choice for the family members to stay. Location is perfect. Value for money.
The Deluxe double room was clean and neat having all the facilities. Staffs were co-operative and always ready for help. I had my meal in the hotel it was amazing in taste. We liked the hotel very much.
Room was spacious. Food was tasty. Staff service was impressive. Overall, it's an above average property.
This is a modest property. Its a bit old but well maintained. The location is decent enough to travel around. There were no complaints about my room, the room service or the food served. Altogether an average property.

I checked into the hotel on my visit to Mathura, the place where Lord Krishna was born. I had a pleasant stay here at the hotel. The room was very clean and awesome to be at. Hotel offered other facilities like indoor and outdoor games facility, gym, swimming pool, salon, bath tub etc. The food served was also tasty.
a old and trusted place to stay when option are less or last moment booking or the budget is low... a nice place to stay but the interior of rooms look a bit old as compared to nearby newly built hotels..
I visited this place during our family tour of Mathura Virandawan. It is good hotel for a budget stay. Located near to highway.Peaceful location and ample parking space. Staff is friendly and co operative. Food quality is average.
I had seen Hotel Madhuvan's glorious days when it used to be the only option in mathura. Today, with time, the sheen is lessened. I happened to book a room for friends during their mathura visit and found them complaining next day. Staff was courteous but entire eco-system is aged out. Pros: + Location. Adjacent to main market (Krishna Nagar) + Budget Stay + Good Food in restaurant + Ample Parking space Cons: - Aged Building/Furniture - Crappy air conditioning. Power cuts make it worse. - Cleaning staff looks like non-exsistent All in all, can serve as one of the options if all other new properties in the area is overbooked.
Pros: 1.0> A month ago, Madhuban started serving Chinese food (and that includes non-veg) from their restaurant. Both for boarders, take-away. And touchwood, this tastes THE-BEST, most delicious in this belt. Thus, they filled up a huge vacuum that existed in this region. Dry noodles (well, thats what goes a Chowmein here) is really delicious, so as Momo (yes, 3 years we left Assam, we tasted Momo here), Spring-Rolls, Chillie-Chicken all are too good. Seems that they have recently recruited some competent Chinese chef. I only hope this guy doesnt leave soon. Because this singlemost critical factor is now the biggest USP of this hotel. 2.0> Peaceful location in a residential area. Turning left from Govardhan Crossing (if one comes from Delhi side, else turn right if one comes from Agra side) from NH-2, around 250 300 meters away from the crossing, there is a small signboard on the road itself that signals the name of the hotel. One have to go inside that alley (its quite a wide path, wide enough to move and manouvere SUVs as well) around 30 meters. The hotel compound is visible. 3.0> Hotel is located in an enclosed, fenced compound, very wide parking space, right from the front side of the hotel, it extends to the entire western side of the hotel building. There is a small lawn as well. 4.0> They do accept cards provided the swiping machine is operating. 5.0> Location is very convenient when one wants to move to attractions like Lord Krishnas birthplace and other temple. The main road is just a walking distance and getting autos from there is very easy. Highway is also very close-by. 6.0> Apart from non-veg, they do also serve nice veg food as well. 7.0> Food prices I found comparable with other hotels in this place. Not too costly, but not that cheap. But choices are few. If you want to stay in a decent hotel here, this is a standard rate. And now the Cons: 1.0> Somehow, somewhere, something seems missing. Its very difficult to explain and pinpoint. There is a gloomy atmosphere. The staffs appear glum, not very cheerful, not very happy, eager to serve. Dont know if they are underpaid. OK its a demanding place to serve, there are varieties of guest that comes here. And its thankless job for many. But for someone who has seen Hotel Madhuban 18- 19 years before, and comparing that old Madhuban with today it makes one sad, very sad. Madhuban is not a todays brand new establishment. Its one of the oldest, vintage property in Mathura. In the late nineties (1995 when I joined my service in Mathura till 1999 as I saw), it was a much-sought-after destination, it had a vibrant, lively, glittering lobby, there used to be a cake-shop and a gift shop at the right side of the main entrance, there used to be a big restaurant when you turn right from the main entrance. Occasionally, in evening, in that restaurant, in some pleasant evening, there used to be music program. A talented person, nicely dressed, pleasant personality, used to sit on the stage and used to sing nice songs in evening, both classical, devotional. It used to be wonderful ambience. Why cant all these be revived? Where are those days gone? Where gone that banquet, that restaurant, that gift shop, that cake / pastry outlet, that singer? Now when I look at that side of that lobby, its all dark, all desolate. But those old paintings are all there, still adorning the reception, the lobby they are still in their place time stands still when one looks at those painting, mute spectator of the olden, golden days. May be its all petty nostalgic feeling, which has no value in todays hardcore professional world of tourism business. May be the hotel has now moved with time. But for old patrons like me who has seen another era of this hotel, when I see it now, it engulfs me with a strange feeling of sadness. Is this what we call moving ahead with time? 2.0> Precisely because of the above-mentioned reason, when I saw the hotel-rate, I felt that it is slightly on higher side. But in Mathura, options are few. If one wants to stay in a decent hotel, most are charging the same rate.
