very good place
Enjoyed the stay. both our cottages were facing a water fall with the constant rumbling. Very close to mother nature. Service and food were excellent. The only problem was climbing up the restaurant and swimming pool were a bit tiring.

What we loved The View from the swimming pool. How often do you get to swim in an infinity pool in-between thick forests and with the view of gorgeous hills? The Food: Kurumba Village Resort has one of the best foods N and I have had in any resort. The taste and the thought went through the food that was served. We could feel the delight in every bite. The Treetop Dining experience: Kurumba Village Resort surprised us with a Tree Top Dining experience. A special menu cooked separately for us by their amazing head chef and served with a lot of privacy on a tree top lit elegantly with candles around. Sigh! It was so romantic. The Chai Kada: Every evening we were served chai and pakora in a quaint little place which they fondly call Chai Kada. Designed to look like a local chai shop. Hot masala chai served in all its traditional glory with the view of the hills and bhajis. The Room: The room facing a little steam. We were always entertained by the sound of stream accompanied by a little birds chirp. So close to nature. So comfortable. The Hospitality: We were given a Golf cart/buggy everytime we wanted to go to the restaurant. Did we tell you, the resort is built on a hill? Ups and downs and beautiful pathways. From the General Manager to cleaner, everyone was absolutely friendly and by the end of the two days, N and I felt we were leaving a family home and not the resort The Nature Integration: The whole resort was integrated with nature. The name boards of the food in the buffet which was written behind a leaf, the pool in between nature, the wooden balconies. The view of the stars from the poolside in the night The Nature Walk: Waking up at 6.30 am on a holiday was absolutely worth it. Dinesh our guide for the nature walk through the forest was so well read and explained about the life of a hornbill. We chatted about politics and Bangalore traffic and returned back to the best breakfast of ghee podi dosa. kurumba-21-of-53kurumba-22-of-53 How to get there? Kurumba is around 300 Kms from Bangalore. We drove down. We left early morning and reached before lunch. One can alternatively take a flight to Coimbatore and drive down from there too. Kurumba Nature Resort was exactly what dreams are made of. Amazing food, Almost no network, beautiful view and great hospitality!
Our stay at Kurumba was an experience of a lifetime. The beautiful serene surroundings provide the perfect place to relax and unwind and most importantly to connect with nature. Food and service are fantastic. Loved every minute of it.
Great people at the resort, especially Dinesh who conducts the Jungle trek as well as the Waterfall trek. Food is just awesome. Great property with the cottages and the suites nicely done. One can spend days here in his own world. We spent the new year's there and it was an exclusive event with a personal touch. The tea stall adds to the incredible stay. Overall, highly recommended.
We are a tribe of friends who can takeover a place so we book early . So we planned this trip in Aug and booked for 9 adults and 6 kids . One adult had to drop out because of a personal emergency , the resort was wonderful enough to give a full refund ! The property is in between Metupalyam and Conoor and since you need to actually descend about 200 ft to get to the resort the temperature to refer is more Metupalyam . We needed a light jacket in the evening and you could be in shorts the rest of the day. We booked 4 cottages and these are spacious and ours looked out into a green beautiful valley . So the good , bad and the ugly is actually easy ........ even if there were some bad like it looks like there is only a single buggy which ferries guests and luggage so it can take some time , it was all insignificant compared to the warmth of the staff . I would like to say that their GM Mr Jyotish is a rockstar of a hospitality professional . Given our group size of course we asked for complicated things and he made it happen . For eg get drivers to drive our cars to Ooty while we took the toy train to Ooty , but two of us were trekking to Conoor so have lunch arranged at their beautiful Tea Nest property and delay a magic show a small bit because the rest wanted to have Nilgiri tea at their Conoor resort . And all this with a genuine smile ....... thank you for having us over and ensuring we had a wonderful time. As for the food , we were on full board and we are a gang of foodies . So reach early the food is fresh and wonderful , it is a large spread but consistently they got the mutton perfect , and the chicken too . The dosas , the many chutneys and the tam cuisine was awesome ! I tried the spa one day and given the beautiful mountain setting it felt good , and it was one of the better Ayurvedic massages I have had. The best part for me was since there is a bit of a climb to the main hub from the cottages and I don't have the patience to wait for buggies ...... even after all the wonderful food .... this is the first holiday I didn't add some holiday pounds :-)
