Hotel Ganesh, Rajendra Marg, Mt Abu A non-descript hotel which offers so-called 'super deluxe' double rooms at Rs 2000/- per night without the complimentary breakfast. Situated near the taxi stand & main market of Mt Abu, this uncomfortable hotel with sparse facilities would be better avoided by travellers and pilgrims to this exotic hill station in Rajasthan. No heating in rooms during freezing winter nights, no complimentary mineral water bottle, no English newspaper on the premises, nor any decent meals offered. However, with the market and its many shops & restaurants within walking distance, the guest does have access to decent food outside. Laundry facility is available at a reasonable price of Rs 25 per piece for washing & ironing. An AC is installed for the rather hot summers. Buses are available for pilgrims & tourists to visit local places of interest, as are taxis (expensive at Rs2000/- per day) and auto rickshaws. Nakki Lake, a picturesque water body with boating facilities is within walking distance. The famed Bramha Kumari 'Shanti Bhavan' is also a short half hour brisk walk away from the hotel. The rooms are small with a double bed, a table, mirror, cupboard and a cramped little bathroom. Hot water in the shower is OK. Food is badly cooked and better avoided. Maybe OK for a traveler on a shoestring budget, but not for anybody wishing for a comfortable accommodation and enjoyable stay. Many other nearby hotels offer far better facilities, food, locale, ambience for the same price as this non-descript hotel.
The rooms were very nice and clean and the dining area is also very beautiful. The hotel manager is a very nice man, very helpful and interactive. He arranges a scooty for us on very short notice for our visit to Guru-Shikhar
The hotel can be rated very good as a budget hotel due to its tariff & proximity to the Taxi stand and Nakki lake (walk through the Polo Ground & you can walk on flat pathway). Rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. The toilet is good but the hot water supply is solar operated which depending upon the sun can make you uncomfortable at times. We have not consumed lunch & dinner in the hotel as the Hotel is Pure veg but the breakfast (Aloo paratha & Coffee) was very good & served hot. The Hotel does not have any dedicated parking but arranges for parking the car in the hotel pathway, if informed earlier. The staffs are very cooperative & courteous and will try to help you to the extent possible. Overall, I am satisfied with the hotel & would like to revisit.
