Excellent food, great service! Excellent food, great service!

Hotel Suba Palace has a lot of accomodating staff. They placed me with a clean room that has many amenities. The food for breakfast is delicious and their room service food is excellent. Superior quality for a 3 star hotel. They even printed my plane ticket for me.

Very good and great location Very good and great location

On the Colaba side, the Suba Palace hotel is an excellent choice since it is walking distance to the Gateway of India and Taj Palace and reasonably priced. The rooms we had were clean and sufficiently large by Mumbai standards. The bathrooms also were good. Staff is efficient and breakfast was really good too with Indian and continental choices. It is of course very far from the airport so keep that in mind when planning travel. We used Uber to get to and from the airport and it worked out well for us. The Gateway of India was most peaceful first thing in the morning and overcrowded and frustrating evening and night.

Great location, great staff Great location, great staff

This small hotel is excellently situated close to the Gateway of India, shops and sights such as the Prince of Wales Museum. The staff were cheerful and attentive and the restaurant served excellent Indian food and a complimentary breakfast with eggs cooked to order. The room was spotlessly clean and room service was excellent. No alcohol is served here but there are restaurants, including the Sea Breeze in the Taj nearby, that do serve cocktails at prices that will oblige you to take our a second mortgage. Two thumbs up!

We had this hotel booked as part of our walking holiday in Madhya Pradesh. The room was large and spotlessly clean. Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy the room as we only had it booked as somewhere to freshen up after our flight to Mumbai and before we caught the overnight train to Itarsi. The hotels location meant that we were able to visit the Gate way of India in the limited time available. The staff were very efficient and helped us organise our transport to the nearby railway station

excellent location; average hotel excellent location; average hotel

Recently stayed here for a few nights while visiting family and friends in Mumbai. The main selling point for this hotel is the location. It is very close to Gateway of India, Taj Hotel, some museums, and lots of restaurants and shopping. In this regard we were very pleased. The hotel itself is fairly average. On the plus side I do believe the staff are well intentioned and the rooms are clean and fairly quiet. One problem is that there is an odor of smoke in the hallways even though rooms are supposed to be non-smoking. We mentioned it to a staffer who acknowledged that guests sometimes violate the rules and it's hard to control that. Also the breakfast buffet was not very good especially because the food was too spicy. Almost every item that could be spiced had too much spice in it. We also had problems with the room safe malfunctioning and it took a while for the staff to come and fix it, and when they did it could not be fixed due to technical problems. Again I think the staff is trying and the location is great, but I would stay here expecting some bumps along the way.
