Bad Sorroundings !! Bad Sorroundings !!

by 534visitor on June 14, 2016

If you are looking for a decent, clean or a good area and a good hotel than this is not for you. While I was walking towards the hotel looking at the GPS on my mobile, I felt like I should turnaround and take a different hotel. The area around going towards hotel was so bad.. It was skinking all around and felt like I have ended up in a slum. Atlast I thought just to see the hotel, walk back and take some other hotel. I had booked the dormatory.. Already being frustated by looking around the sorroundings of the hotel It was deicded that I would not take the room here. I cancelled my dormatory and asked for a separate room. I paid additonal 1200 (I had already paid 600 for the dormatory and took a separate room). The hotel is new one and hence this is the only releiving thing as this looked fresh from inside. They did not change even the bedsheet. There is no hot water in taps. THey even charged for water bottle. Overall it was a matter of spending one night and hence if you are looking for a pleasant stay dont go for this. I did not even feel like coming our of room the time I stayed there.

Budget hotel in mumbai. Also airport is nearby. Food quality though is not so good. Overall the hotel is okay to stay with friends and fits in budget but don't make too much noise as voice goes outside the room. Shopping centres are also neaby. Hotel is very difficult to find though.

Go to Adore Inn instead or pay more to Penninsula Grand Go to Adore Inn instead or pay more to Penninsula Grand

There are so many hotels in this area and near by you can walk in and view the room before making any commitment that it's not worth booking these hotels in advance. As a couple we've booked the hotel for the last night in India. The room was one of the worst we've ever seen with no storage and really small and really dark. Bathroom was fitted with modern shower and the a/c was one of the best but they didn't gloss over the whole gloomy-ness of the hotel. Wifi did not work and the staff kindly let us use their computer upstairs but there is a lovely hotel opposite called Adore Inn which is a lovelier hotel. In the end we decided to leave the hotel after an hour of checking in and paid 6000 rupees and stayed in the Penninsula Grand hotel instead. We've stayed in many budget hotels from 700 - 1500 rupees and this hotel may have been ok for the first night in India but not the last!

Rooms shiwn on photos are only guideline, actual rooms need paint work as it shows lits of damp on sides of walls. They dont even check the rooms properly after check out. The dusbin was full, toilet wasnt even flashed, the hand basin very dirty and the floor should have been mopped atleast.

Only stay here if you must Only stay here if you must

Hotels in Mumbai are notoriously expensive, at least compared to the rest of India. But even so, this place is not very good value for money. At this place is also listed as AXA Hotel, which is what we booked. But apparently they changed the name at some point. And whentried to find the place, we realised that the "address" provided at is not very specific which made really difficult to find. The taxi driver had no idea where to go, and neither did we. After asking at least fifteen people for directions, I finally found another hotel that luckily knew about the place. The rooms are small with A/C, but no windows. Cleaniness is so-so: The sheets were stained, and we found a big cockroach in the room. Staff is friendly and helpful, but only the receptionist speaks English. In short, only stay here if you need to be close to the airport - but make sure to bring the exact address, as taxi drivers are unlikely to know the area any better than you do.
