Till date my worst hotel experience Till date my worst hotel experience

by Sounam09 on January 4, 2017

From the begining it felt bad, as they made us wait to open the room lock only! Though they had only one more booking after us, the manager was not sure if the room is clean, then they had to search for correct key to open for around half an hour! Then when opend, oh gosh! It is delux room size! 2* hotel like Treebo Pune offers much bigger and much much better facility rooms! They did not provide tea bag or anything like that! The basin was broken, continuous water flow! And then after visiting places while returning there had to battle with cickroach in washroom! It was nightmare! Then the breakfast arrangement, the tables everything so dirty. The cable connection also went off at night! Giving it at least one *only for its staff's well behavior, otherwise nothing was worthy there!

If you are a first time tourist to India then this may not be the place for you. Spend a little more and stay at somewhere like the Residency. Our stay at the PA Residency was OK. We had a large group with 5 rooms. They were clean and fairly consistent throughout. The higher rooms on the top floor are in the roof line and so the walls slope a bit. The included breakfast was OK as it is small things are cooked to order. The manager works long hours and is helpful but he lacks support. The other desk staff are personable but lack the ability to handle check-ins and wifi. Its big advantage is proximity to the CST station. But taxis are cheap and plentiful so you may stay further. It is slightly difficult to find due to confusion on names with other hotels for taxis. (I.e there are other hotels with the word Residency in their names nearby). The signage is best from across the road and it is not apparent from street level as the ground floor is an eatery.

Value for money hotel and centrally located Value for money hotel and centrally located

by Seena_Joy on November 7, 2016

This is your average budget hotel centrally located. Its a 5min walking from Victoria Terminus (CST) station and an ideal point for ease of transportation around the city. The place is 2 kms from Gateway of India. As mentioned, this is a budget hotel, with average facilities, located at a convenient point. The staff was courteous and professional, and didn't make any deals with a couple staying over, unlike other hotels in Mumbai or in that case, anywhere else in India, which was exactly why I choose this place in the first place. The rooms are very small, and hardly much space to move around and keep luggage. For 2 people in a room, it will be cramped, unless you don't have much of a problem with that. The rooms look modern and quaint, and the fittings and room are modern with a good lighting and ambiance. The staff and the housekeeping were really nice and kind. The buffet breakfast is very plain, with some plain bread and butter/jam, and maybe some omeletes and any typical indian breakfast for the day. If you come in late or join early, the food might either be over or not yet ready. So keep that in mind. Ideally joining in for breakfast around 8.30am - 9 am would be good. The room had strong Wifi connection. Its better not open the windows to the room, because the view you probably will be seeing is a garbage dump. And mosquitoes will get free entry. On one night of our stay, our air conditioner started to leak water and it was falling on the bed due to the small room. Well, the staff came in to help us at night. The room has an electric kettle for regular hot water/ tea drinkers and another reason why I chose the place. The room looked kind of neat overall, though some dust and dirt can be seen at nook and corners. The bathroom was clean, though hot water seemed stopping in the middle of shower. So it is advisable to first fill in your bucket with water and then start your shower/bath, to avoid the problem of water stopping in the middle of your bath and getting stuck in the bathroom. Few restaurants are there neaby, and we went to the National hotel - 5 mins walk from PA residency. It is a Muslim place and served very good non-veg dishes. After we checked out in the morning, we needed a room to freshen up in the evening before our return journey. They gave us a room just for us to refresh and change without paying anything. The staff was really nice and kind. In short, I was happy with our stay in PA residency.

Afternoon,/evening stopover between trains Afternoon,/evening stopover between trains

We paid for a full night but left at 10pm to catch a train. The manager provided excellent service and offered us a superior room. Although small, it was fine for our purposes. He organised a take in meal for us. Whether it was bad luck I don't know but we both went down sick thereafter. (I am writing this 4 days on & am still unwell). However, I do not blame the manager for this.

Demo Trip 102 is quite good as not street facing and directly behind reception desk.

by conantheaccountant on December 4, 2016

Demo Trip Ask for rooms in the ground floor. They are bigger than the ones in the upper floors.
