I booked through Booking.com where they mentioned that the property has free wifi, yet I was given a dorm on the fourth floor without any. This was kinda sad given the fact that the property is otherwise clean with decent enough service and good staff behaviour. Overall, I would recommend this over the ones available on Make my trip or go ibibo. Another problem which they clearly didn't mention during booking was that they don't allow non veg food, which you can compromise on given the other facilities like a fridge and a kitchen. However, as many pointed out, the manager is kinda unfriendly, didn't bother to listen to my request about the wifi service.

If one is looking for a real local experience, the guest house is a great option for the price. Located in the middle of the busiest market of the city, and thanks to this location, it felt safe to walk around even during the night. The staff is kind and helpful. If one is not expecting a fancy place, the room we stayed in was really simple, honest and clean.

If you get beyond the three flights of stinky staircase often loaded with concrete and the stench of a long history - a warm, old school, hostel awaits you with all its past glory and visual aesthetics. From railway engine lights to art deco interiors this place will win your heart in the heart of the town without leaking your pockets. Shared bathrooms aside, this place lets you be you, especially when everyone is asleep, you can own the livingroom space and pretend its your personal bnb.

The rooms are dormitory type with charge being ’400 for a bed per day. The facilities they provide for the money is very good and the toilets are clean and hygeienic. We had a chat with Sujata ma'am the owner of the place who was very friendly. The only con of the place is reaching there as we have to climb up 3-4 floors, also locating it for the first time can be a bit difficult as the entrance is through a walkway having a shop. Overall it was a very good experience, definitely staying there on the next visit!

An absolute architectural gem right in downtown Mumbai! Staff were brilliant - super helpful, and really accomodating when I arrived later than expected. Rooms are super basic, but everything you need for a good night's rest, and incredible value for Mumbai given the location and how expensive the city is. The guys here are trying to do something really special with preserving and renovating this beautiful building, and providing a little slice of old Bombay style - massively recommend if you like authentic travel and not just identikit hotel rooms.b
