I got an upgrade to their Suite which was phenomenal. Always get a room with a Lake view as that is tranqiul and relaxing. Their Spa is very good too. I felt the in room dining was expensive. Otherwise, this is a great hotel with fantastic views. Ideal for a short weekend relaxation trip.

Cannot get their numbers stright + poor customer service Cannot get their numbers stright + poor customer service

Beware when checking out of this hotel. Inspect your credit card statements VERY carefully.. they have sent me now what is a second folio (changed their charges inexplicably after I questioned the folio total vs. what has been charged to my card). The second folio is still not correct.. basically overcharged my account, and they cannot explain the difference Second point - when you call them, they keep you on hold.. transfer you between the JW Marriott's billing dep and their's .. and finally hang up on you. it has been 3 day process to try to speak with someone who knows basic math. Finally gave up and filled a dispute with my CC company after the Marriott customer service person yelled at me!!! She basically told me that the charges were correct .. well, not so fast .. the CC statement and the charges do no agree .. my CC company will make haste of that situation. Overall an outdated property with difficult access and horrible views (if you are not facing the pool)... stay at the JW next time...

the stay for last 3 weeks is very comfortable with fantastic service in all aspects. the lake view cafe offering the dinner has a good spread, live counters and fantastic staff delivering them. the food tastes good, variety is there in terms of quantity and u shall enjoy the view of the lake..

Outstanding service Outstanding service

Somebody is setting a very positive tone here for staff to provide an excellent experience for guests. Upon checking in I inquired whether I might purchase an iPhone charger having left mine in another Marriott property in Pune the night before. Amit overheard my inquiry and immediately jogged to his car to loan me his, and Santosh got on the phone with Pune and made arrangements for a car going between the properties to deliver the charger the next day. All way above and beyond what is necessary to help a forgetful guest, and all done with grace and a friendly demeanor. I doubt this kind of "can-do" service orientation is fully trainable and no doubt has something to do with hiring the right people in the first place - but whatever, it pays off to transform "just another hotel stay" into something notable. Well done!

So-so rooms, spectacular food So-so rooms, spectacular food

by MotorsportM8 on November 21, 2016

I traveled with a number of colleagues and we arrived late after a flight delay. Frustratingly, the front desk couldn't find reservations for two of them although we were all ultimately accommodated. Well positioned with beautiful views across Powai Lake, the hotel rooms are standard Marriott fare in India: conventional layouts and decor, empty mini-bars, super-comfy beds (even if the pillows are small). My room had seen better days: the furniture was starting to thread and the shower head was thoroughly limescaled. Maintenance standards aside, I had a good night's sleep but was left with the impression that there are better hotels around. What the Renaissance does BRILLIANTLY is food. I ate at both Fratelli's Italian (dinner) and the Lake View Cafe (lunch) and both were spectacular. Particular praise to the dessert selection at the Lake View's buffet - it is honestly to die for!

Dinner: awesome Dinner: awesome

Usually i am not a big fan of buffet-style dinners. I don't like the idea of 'other people' touching my food. Here however, it was awesome. There is 1 chef who makes doza's by request, in the middle area there are 2 chefs making more or less everything you want with the enormous amount of ingredients you can choose from. Anything from traditional Indian food, to chinese to super western and Italian is available. Dessert was great too. Again, i usually never eat dessert either as i am not a big fan of sweets, but here: beautifully decorated and lots of both traditional indian and 'international' choices. Took lots of pics so have a look.
