Not recommended. I tried The Bandra Residency earlier in Mumbai and it was par excellence. However this time I didn't come up trumps in my hotel choice.

Booked 2 rooms, 1 for 1 night the other for 2 nights as had a late flight. Great location, main room had a small balcony with sea view. Hotel is very outdated however is in the process of being upgraded. Rooms had aircon, fans, new beds, wifi coverage, new flat screen TV's, very old fridges. Breakfast was a disappointment and they will need to seriously improve their offer & service. The breakfast room was down near reception and almost seemed an after thought. I have had far better quality from the most basic of Hostels. All though rates are higher than elsewhere in India, Mumbai is overly expensive & the location is great.

We 5 people, recently stayed in this hotel for 3 nights on 9,10, 11 feb The rooms are very big and clean, if you get room on sea side, enjoying morning sunrise from balcony is something not to miss. We ate dinner there everyday and overall good food. very polite staff, and good service. Only suggestion to hotel is to avoid monotonous breakfast menu. All 3 days was same limited menu.

Room was very big and clean, breakfast included which was eggs on toast and fruit juice. Can be a bit noisy if there is a function on the pier opposite. They were also installing a new lift at the time so that added to the noise as well but all in all a nice hotel in a good location close to the gate of India with good views of the sea from some rooms.

This is a budget hotel in an excellent location. Sure the place needs some TLC but you get what you pay for. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and our room was clean and relatively quiet. The breakfast was tasty. We booked this hotel because it was the last one available in the area for our travel dates because the reviews were so poor - I was actually relieved to see that some of the very negative reviews were greatly exaggerated.

Firstly, I must say that this hotel is in a great location, on the waterfront and 5 minutes walk to the Gateway of India. However, they were doing renovations when we were there 15th, 16th and 17th Jan 2017 and made a noise late into the night. We had a ground floor room just next to the dining room and off the elevator area which was being renovated. The room looked like it had been refreshed and was a good size, freshly painted and clean. We had a twin share and even though the room was a smoking room, it did not smell of smoke, but did have a lot of mosquitos when we arrived and the staff gave us insect repellent which alleviated the situation. The staff were not very helpful unless it was an easy request to fulfill. We asked for a late checkout and got a blanket NO, without doing any checking if it was possible. The porters were helpful with bags but then waited until we tipped them, passively forceful. This is the first time we have experienced this in our 3 week trip across India. There was also no apologies for the late / loud workmen noise. They just made as if it was not happening. The gentleman who delivered our laundry demanded we pay cash for the washing we had done and would not charge it to our room account and when we have him the cash, he assumed the change was a tip. We found this expectation of tips quite arrogant and not what we had experienced elsewhere in India. Finally, I recommend you ask for a higher floor room ocean facing for the best views and less street noise.
