Our initial arrival in Mumbai was a bit of a shock, we had arranged a tranfer from the airport to the hotel and the transfer did not show up, our booking was made and paid for 9 months before our arrival date, but unfortunately through some loophole in the hotel booking system our accommodation was cancelled and we had nowhere to stay inspite of having documentation saying accommodation was paid in full.
The professional, courteisim and integrity of this hotel was admirably, after a lot of talking and chasing up as to what went wrong we were reassured that the price we initially paid would be honoured and payment was organised again via international transfer. My thanks to Mr Rohit Shetty who was incredibly understaning and ensured the comfort and safety of us 2 ladies, the 9 days that followed was most memorable, starting with breakfast the service and hospitality was excellent, every staff member went out of their way to tempt us with the vast array of dishes, Mr Nelson Pereira who overlooked the operation is most helpful, courteous and obliging, nothing is a problem or too difficult, the room service is excellent and the meals are delicious and generous, whether eating in the restaurant or in room, the whole facility is clean and well maintained.
Thanks a million to Nelson for all his help and advice on getting things of importance done for us, when at the Oriental Residency ensure you meet or ask for Nelson for the best stay ever, thank you all so very much, rest assured we'll be back.
Good hotel with nice service. After many years I have been to Mumbai. The hotel has arranged a pickup cab from airport. This was located so conveniently. Staff was very courteous. Even though the checkin and checkouts were at late nights, they have done with high energy levels.
Rooms were good and food served is very tasty.
A good experience and worth the stay. Staff was very helpful and responded promptly even when room needed to be changed. Also had a function organized there which had good and efficient arrangements and excellent food for the guests.
Our thanks, albeit belated, to Komal, Deepak, Birendar, Nitynano and all other restaurant staff, who definitely made our stay such an enjoyable one.
Our room did need a little bit of refurbishment (TLC) but it was very clean.
All staff from the cleaners to the owner/manager could not be more helpful and attentive.

All the staff at this hotel were wonderful. I fell sick during my visit and ended up spending more time than I would have liked at the hotel. However, the staff were always sweet and courteous and no matter how many times I rung them up for help and advise, they were always available with a smile. The hotel has a one touch dial (#8 on the phone even though the guide says #1) which you could use to call for all questions and this was very helpful because you did not have to remember several numbers to call when needed. Although small and for the budget conscious, the cleanliness of this hotel is on par with top hotels in the area. The housekeeping manager would check in daily to see if the room needed cleaning if it wasn't done as per the usual schedule. The hotel also provides with basic amenities, toothbrush, comb, shaving kit etc. and also has their own bath gel, shampoo and conditioner available in every bathroom. This was a nice added feature. Additionally their on-site restaurant, Soul, serves the best daily buffet breakfast (highly recommended) and overall it had a varied menu with lots of options. All the food was prepared well and was quite tasty too. The best part of this hotel is the location. Ideally located in the heart of Khar, everything is nearby. Ola and Uber never had a problem locating us and taxis and autos were ample and easy to find. Its located within walking distance to the famous Hinduja hospital as well which was an added bonus to me on this visit. This is my second stay at this hotel and would recommend it and stay here again.
I stayed for 6 nights and on 3 of the nights the entire hotel was booked by a very loud wedding party which treated the hotel like their home. I could often hear their conversations in my room which was disturbing. This was not really fault of the hotel though and I would not fault them for this.
