If you are in Mumbai (Town) and need a place to stay which is equidistant from all the good party places, eatries and marine drive, there is no place better than Shalimar. The rooms are quite comfortable and the staff is really friendly and would be happy to give a few inside secret of the town.
i was here for a friend weeding and this hotel was not very far from NSCI which was the wedding venue,also some of the functions were all like within 20 minutes driving time and she also stays 5 minutes drive from the hotel. very nice hotel , comfortable in all ways.i will stay again if i come to south Mumbai again. very good breakfast very good food and great service good hotel in all aspects.
The Shalimar Hotel is an old fashion hotel.It needs to upgrade The service at the reception was slow but once the manager came name Mrs Zainab all problems were sorted out. They do not serve breakfast in the room. Lack of professional staff..
The experience was good as from check in to check out the stay was comfortable. The rooms were clean and a the breakfast well laid out. Staff were very pleasing and helpful. Convenient location and well connected
I checked into Hotel Shalimar on Monday 9th January 2017 at about 8pm as I wasn't felling too well to travel back to my far out destination. I had requested for breakfast in my room which the front desk said was ok and could be arranged and I made the payments for the 1 night there and then at about a cost of Rs6000 rupees plus. It's 8am as we speak on Tuesday 10th January 2017 and I can't still get the breakfast in my room and I have spoken to every one you can imagine on their hotel lines. One person actually told me that I would only get toast and orange juice. I expect that for a Hotel of this magnitude this is a big set back that you can't fully attend to the needs of a client who is feeling poorly at this time. I couldn't even wait at the lobby to sign the papers the night before as it had to be brought to me in the car as I couldn't just stand the cold and also had asked that the AC in the room be switched off even before I got in there and I had to grit my teeth to bear the fan in the lift to my room. Other wise I don't have anything against the Hotel but for this one major snag that why I am giving them 1 star as I feel this the hospitality business. It's 8.07am now and still no breakfast even if it's the juice and toast so I can take my med and head back to the clinic for my injections. This is what you get in India in 2017, every one has a one track mind, there is nothing like thinking outside the box. I hope some one finds this useful. Am sure that a few weeks or months from now the hotel manager/top exec will post a lame apology. So so horrible.
