Such a wonderful hotel with all the luxury trimmings. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice. The staff are so polite and nothing is ever too much trouble. Booked a room in the tower wing but upgraded to palace wing.

I was in awe when I entered this hotel. The beautiful & colorful flower arrangements, the paintings, the marble tiles floors, the waiting areas and the weeping wall just captivate all my senses. I was grateful that they offered a tour of the hotel because it has a lot of history. We managed to see the Old wing with it beautiful architecture, lovely paintings and lots of photographs with famous personalities who had stayed in this hotel. As I heard about the 2008 attack, I realized the weeping wall was a memorial to the guests that died that day, it was done beautifully! There was also the pool area with beautiful greenery, unfortunately we were on tour and didn't have time to enjoy this oasis. My room was impeccable, done in a modern design. The location of the hotel was great, close to a lot of restaurants, shops and habour.

A wonderful hotel , On arrival we were upgraded to the palace from the towers , The trip was for my birthday our room was decorated with balloons and flowers petals on the floor they brought us a lovely cake nothing was to much trouble all the staff here make you very welcome , We had a lovely celebration meal made special by Azar khan in the shamiana restaurant , Do go on the hotel tour as its very informative , The Hotel is in a great location and a lovely shopping street at the back of the hotel . We would recommend to anyone many thanks to all the staff who made our last days in India special !!

Not what we expected ! Not what we expected !

Well where do I start. On arrival at this iconic hotel which was supposed to be the highlight of our stay in India we were impressed by the security and then we walked into the lobby. Very bemused not to be met with a cold drink or a hot flannel which we normally recieve in 5* hotels. Then we had the misfortune to be checked in by harshvardhan Sunderka. We were with another couple who had asked me to do their booking which I did and they chose a city view room at the cheaper price. We chose and paid for a sea facing room with a view to the India gate as, we were celebrating our 40th anniversary. Then the shambles started. I could not make the above person understand what I had booked and paid for he was very condescending towards my self and my husband when I told him what we had booked he kept saying he had upgraded us to the point of doing a diagram of the rooms,,, really! He then went off to get the beads that the guests recieve and walked up to a completely different couple he obviously didn't have a clue. The 4 of us then go to our respective rooms and le and behold our friends had been given a sea facing room with a view to India gate we had a view of nothing. We went down to try and explain but he still would not listen and all he was saying was check your emails Our friends said they would swap but we declined. The next day I tried to phone down to the general manager but kept getting cut off so I sent an email. We went out for the morning and on our return the director of rooms got in touch with us and could not do enough as in changing our room and giving us extras to acknowledge our 40th anniversary. She also apologised deeply for the way we were treated. On the whole breakfast was good, pool area lovely. But the whole experience left a bad taste 5* hotel with 2* service. If you do stay here stay in the main hotel the tower rooms are not good. Dubai hotels know how to treat their guests this hotel should take note and to top it all when we got back to UK we had been charged on our credit card for the room we were moved to, we have been refunded but you couldn't make this farce up. It would take a lot to make me want to return. Very disappointed.

Taj hotels never cease to Amaze me and this time around they took it to a different level. Like i mentioned in my previous review, Taj always abide by the famous Indian "ATITHI DEVO BHAWA" tagline. As always, i was welcomed by a tika on the forehead followed by a garland. The check in process was smooth and quick. Staff was friendly and wore a smile on their faces. This wasn't a hotel but a palace in the true meaning. The hotel lobby is grand, so the first impression of the hotel gives the feeling of the palace. The hotel also arranged a tour to take around the property and explain the rich history. The tour happens everyday at 5pm. Staff paid attention to even the minutest of details to amze the guests (pics attached). The breakfast menu was huge and had lots of options across various cuisines. The area was happening at night with Gateway of India right across the road, lot of good clubs within 500m from the hotel and the famous "Bademiyaan" (if you are a non vegetarian foodie) right behind the hotel. The only drawback was the distance from the airport. So for business trips, it wont be the right choice. However, for a long and luxurious stays, this is the ideal place to stay when in Mumbai.
