It was indeed a terrible experience. We had booked this hotel for our marriage anniversary but it was a complete disater, we left the hotel next day although we had paid for 2 nights. We expect a refund from the hotel for the second day unutilized stay. Your website has given 5 star but the hotel doesn't comes any where closer to an average 2 star hotel/resort. The location is very far from Munnar, it took almost 5 hours drive in the hilly track from Munnar, no road direction of hotel anywhere while reaching hotel. Room area was very congested, bathroom was unclean, no heating facility, no television/radio, very limited dining options. There was no hot water in the shower/taps, the water was muddy, in sum it was a horrible experiece staying for one night. We left immidiately next morning without a refund for next night booking. I had paid about nine thousnd for staying in this hotel for two nights, but couldn't stay for more than one night. I think your travel guru who advised us for this hotel should have been knowledgeable and advised us correctly. I will never recommend this place to anyone and ask Travel Guru to be more responsible in advising their customers. I require clarification from you, why this hotel has been listed as a 5 star property on your website. Is this not a misrepresentation of facts and putting into inconviniece to customers like me. I hope to get clarification soon from you. R. K. Sinha.
I have been visiting Munnar for about 10 Years now, in last 10 year this place changed from a pristine beauty to ratrig. You go any place, its overcrowded and polluted with tourists. It has long lost it charm. But if you still want to enjoy what Munnar is about Camp Noel is the place. Yes, Its hard to reach, no connectivity, no great food, But it all worth it. You want to go hiking/trekking to peak, you want a superb lash green tea garden its all right there. And yes no one else other than you. Its a beautiful place. Location is divine, if you like driving, Driving thru Shola Forest range will worth everything. You will find lot of people cribbing about food, connectivity and what not. But the point is, if you want that you can stay at your home and order food. It did worth it. We really enjoyed 4 days we stayed. Now the tip part: Stay in Cottage. They have 4 rooms though but cottage is the place to stay. Pick any. Food is just alright, though the Chef and staff is really courteous. Do the peak trek, dont miss it. Go to tea garden. And yes you need your own vehicle to reach here. But if you like driving, its super fun on these windy road.

The place is super isolated from the busy town & is 22 Km away form Munnar town(1.5 Hrs). It is very peaceful & a perfect destination for those who want a cutoff from their busy life. The hotel is set on a near to a village & other farm land around it. The restaurant is average, but is the only source as there are not resturants or other hotels nearby. The nearest filling station is at Munnar town. So fill in your tanks & take your own bbq food if you like to bbq. The facilities include campfire & bbq facilities. The hotel staffs are very friendly & the Manager(remember him as Mr. Renjith) & his assistant takes care of all guest very well. If your plan to stay plan for a minimum of 3 days & opt for the two bedroom bungalows. The honeymoon cottage is also a good experience. Enjoy your stay.
Me and my wife stayed at the elevated cottage for a night. We both loved the whole place. very calm and romantic. A perfect place to stay for a day or two if you are someone who loves to stay away from the crowd. Some people might have the issues with the distance as it is 50 km away from munnar. But as i said if you are someone who wants to stay away from the crowd you will enjoy the drive. The drive starting from the pampadum shola national park is very beautiful and if you are lucky enough you can spot wild animals. About the elevated cottage the only thing disappointing is the space as it is very congested inside. But the rooms and toilets were very clean and neatly maintained. The hospitality of the staff were also very polite and the food was also upto the mark.
Excellent Place - very calm and peaceful, far from the commercial areas of munnar - totally worth traveling another 40 kms from munnar. Only imp tip is: Google Maps took us through 2 wrong routes - one while coming from coimbatore side it showed direct path without crossing munnar - which is closed since 2013 - Pl don't take that shortcut. Another one is from munnar when you go to camp noel, google maps takes you through an off road shortcut - where last 6 kms are pretty bad. Pl check with locals and take the longer (+2km) route, which has good roads.
So the rooms are great, have a colonial feel to them.. We booked a 1 bedroom bungalow instead of the club house or tree house because it had a fireplace. This was a major setback as the chimneys are not good enough to remove fumes from burnt logs. The entire house was full of smoke. On top of it, this was the only heating mode available to beat the December chill! We were freezing and coughing and desperately calling for help in the intercom. Finally they gave us a room heater so we could sleep peacefully. As we were visiting in the last week of December, the a la carte food option was closed for the evenings and a compulsory buffet was imposed on everyone. This was a bit unfair as my partner had a medical condition and he could not eat most of the items. Plus loud music till 12am as a part of festivities meant we could not sleep well. I would call this a fault of management and not the staff. Personally, I felt the staff went out of the way to help us. Keep in mind the resort is far from the city and there are no eating options nearby. It is advisable to have a personal vehicle at disposal as there is plenty of parking space. Treks/nature walks are good/only ways to pass time at Camp Noel. WiFi in the reception area only. Breakfast is good. 5 stars for mattress, views from the room, cleanliness, food quality. The resort is stuck deep in Shola forest reserve and just close to TN border. It's a perfect spot to unwind from city life.
the two nights stay at Camp Noel would be the best to recall in our 7nights Kerala trip. the scenic beauty defeats words to express. and so does the hospitality. the tolerance of the staffs must be applauded. the all-smile-greet would automatically bring joy to your heart and smile on your lips. the scenery is picturesque. all the greenery around sooth your eyes and boost your soul. words fall short to express the refreshing beauty this place is a must visit for those who seek peace, life and love all together. and trekking through the tree plantation is a must do for the people who care for adventure. you have the occassion of bathing in the intoxicating smell of eucalyptus trees , and when you reach the top, honestly the 'heaven-under-your-feet' feel strikes you. i couldn't express more. thank you, :)
