Cottage With One Bedroom
It was indeed a terrible experience. We had booked this hotel for our marriage anniversary but it was a complete disater, we left the hotel next day although we had paid for 2 nights. We expect a refund from the hotel for the second day unutilized stay. Your website has given 5 star but the hotel doesn't comes any where closer to an average 2 star hotel/resort. The location is very far from Munnar, it took almost 5 hours drive in the hilly track from Munnar, no road direction of hotel anywhere while reaching hotel. Room area was very congested, bathroom was unclean, no heating facility, no television/radio, very limited dining options. There was no hot water in the shower/taps, the water was muddy, in sum it was a horrible experiece staying for one night. We left immidiately next morning without a refund for next night booking. I had paid about nine thousnd for staying in this hotel for two nights, but couldn't stay for more than one night. I think your travel guru who advised us for this hotel should have been knowledgeable and advised us correctly. I will never recommend this place to anyone and ask Travel Guru to be more responsible in advising their customers. I require clarification from you, why this hotel has been listed as a 5 star property on your website. Is this not a misrepresentation of facts and putting into inconviniece to customers like me. I hope to get clarification soon from you. R. K. Sinha.
I have been visiting Munnar for about 10 Years now, in last 10 year this place changed from a pristine beauty to ratrig. You go any place, its overcrowded and polluted with tourists. It has long lost it charm. But if you still want to enjoy what Munnar is about Camp Noel is the place. Yes, Its hard to reach, no connectivity, no great food, But it all worth it. You want to go hiking/trekking to peak, you want a superb lash green tea garden its all right there. And yes no one else other than you. Its a beautiful place. Location is divine, if you like driving, Driving thru Shola Forest range will worth everything. You will find lot of people cribbing about food, connectivity and what not. But the point is, if you want that you can stay at your home and order food. It did worth it. We really enjoyed 4 days we stayed. Now the tip part: Stay in Cottage. They have 4 rooms though but cottage is the place to stay. Pick any. Food is just alright, though the Chef and staff is really courteous. Do the peak trek, dont miss it. Go to tea garden. And yes you need your own vehicle to reach here. But if you like driving, its super fun on these windy road.

Stayed here for a day... n It was jus perfect Anoop who welcomed us with a warm smile was always there to make sure things were jus perfect... The food was tasty and not too expensive... Every staff was very courteous... We went to the place jus after a holiday season so had the place mostly to ourselves... Nestled in between the mountains far away from all human settlements... its calm n silent... the rain jus made it a whole lot better... I enjoyed the stay there and surely go there again jus to let go of everything and recharge my self...
We stayed here as a family of 5 during May 2016. This place is a bit far from main munnar town (around 40 kms), but once you reach to this resort and look around, you will be amazingly surprised. This place is above beautiful, surrounded by greenery, nice cottages which look like Scotland houses, delicious food, very very polite Anoop and staff, restaurant guys were very attentive, in spite of heavy rain during our stay, they delivered food at our cottage. Driver Suman was very well mannered and worked as a local guide too for our 2 days sight scene in munnar. They have vehicles in resort, so if you wish to go to restaurant/reception from cottage, they will help you with their vehicles. They have pick up and drop facility from munnar town bus stop. Many people have reviewed like roads towards resort was not in good condition, but believe me, roads are far better than what we have in cities. Food was tasty. Each cottage has two bed rooms, a kitchen and one family room where they have fireplace. A perfect place for family/couple. If you have elderly people with, you need to be cautious as in case of medical emergency , this place would be very far from town hospital. You will get weak cellular signals here and only BSNL will get coverage. One recommendation i would like to give is : Keep some horses in resort, then the property will look no less beautiful than Switzerland :) i would definitely stay at this place again and would recommend it.
A long drive- wherever you are coming from ! From Munnar to vattavada is about 45 Kms and will take about 2 hours if you love a leisurely drive and occasional stop over for scenery photographs. Don't come to this place if you are in a hurry to finish a "deal like" holiday. This is a place for the more relaxed and the carefree traveler or group. when with family, the kids will have activities to do and for adults , there is a trek path. The hotel will arrange for a guide. stay for a minimum of 2-3 days , explore the local scenery and village or plantation, get curious. Food options are limited as there aren't any other restaurants or shops nearby. So you are served" with whats on the menu. The breakfast and Dinner buffets are good and for lunch you may order a la carte. Evenings- Lit up the fire place - ON the music you always loved- toast your glasses and hug a friend.
Duration of stay - 3 days and 2 nights (First week of September) Room type - Cottage (we got upgraded!) *Pros* Amazing view Really clean and top-classrooms Good food Great service and helpful and friendly staff *Cons* Toooo far from Munnar (takes about 2 - 2.5 hrs) Hot water is hard to come by (kinda important at a hill station) Absolutely no mobile service except BSNL (don't know if this is a pro or a con :D ) ---- Staying at this place is really good if you have time on your hands, since travelling to and fro tourist spots will take up a lot of your time. Also the road leading to the hotel is real bad for about 2-3kms (riding on a Scooty is NOT a pleasant experience). And very importantly, make sure to be at the hotel before 7pm max, because the area is pitch black after that. Apart from a few bumps (pun intended), the trip overall was good. Special mention to Anoop and the other staff who went out of the way to make our stay pleasant. I would definitely stay at this place again, prepared better ofcourse.
Camp Noel is an amazing place. Just look at the pictures and it tells the complete story. It is placed in a great location and the nature is at its best. The landscape is amazing. The place is really neat and clean. Really enjoyed the indoor fireplace in the night. That was one of a kind experience in the cold night. They have a great lobby area, nice colonial architecture. The collectibles there shows great taste. The hospitality was impeccable from the management. Special thanks to Anu who was of great help during the stay. Not to be considered as the last point, :) hats off to the chef. The food was amazing.
