This hotel is totally outstanding. Very simple friendly staff and very tasty food. It has got all the amenities normally required. Good views, spacious rooms with balcony. I would not rank it outstanding out of luxury but simplicity and friendly staff. Pros - Views, balcony, spacious rooms, food. Cons - complicated lifts to change. Nearly all guests were confused where to go as they are built on slope and have perhaps 4 lifts to change for lower sections. Tip - try to book rooms on higher level. Lower ones have not so good views.

We were looking for a peaceful holiday away from the bustle of City noise and pollution. Hence we stay put at Munnar rather than opt for the regular Munnar-Thekady-Allepy-Cochin whirlwind tour. I am glad we did. Our travel company recommended Chandy's Windy Woods about 10km from Munnar town. I am glad we accepted this recommendation. We stayed at Windy Woods from the 9th to 12th Feb 2017. Bangalore-Cochin by a morning flight. We were met at the airport by the Driver of our Innova arranged by the travel co. The drive to Munnar was around 4hrs with a stopover for lunch. On arrival at Windy Woods we were greeted at the Reception for the check-in formalities and a welcome drink thereafter while we waited. We were ushered into our deluxe room on the third level. The resort is built along the contour of a hill and one has to change a few lifts to get to the desired floor. This is certainly different from a standard hotel but a novelty and we enjoyed the small walk in-between the lifts. The room was good clean and spacious. The view from the balcony was beautiful with the undulating teagardens all around. The housekeeping staff were very courteous and went out of their way to see that we were comfortable. What really endeared us to this Resort is Chef Nibhu. He not only floored us with his hospitality but went out of his way to make the dishes we wanted. The Aapams were out of the world. Crisp on the exterior and the right soft centre. Still a mouth watering memory. Chef Nibhu even made Puttu with coconut milk for us. You will have to tell him the previous night. On the penultimate Day Chef Nibhu took us on a tour of his modern and sparklingly clean Kitchen showcasing the organic foods that were used to prepare the various dishes. The best part was that the cusine had a non-spicy composition but still with the authentic taste. There is no Bar on the property ! We enjoyed every moment of our stay. We were very impressed by the chef that prepared especially non spicy excellent food for us, made sure that we are happy and really oaompered us. The hotel is build very much to accommodate the environment

We were met by a total absence of a welcome, leaving us standing for several minutes while staff just walked around us as if we were not even there. Eventually, a staff member told us to sit down, without explaining where. When I asked where, he pointed vaguely to an area adjacent to the reception desks. After we were checked in, we followed by a tortuous path to our room, having to travel on four separated elevators. Our room was located at the foot of an internal, loud waterfall, which was not turned off until 10:00pm. The pool was very disappointing, having only two lounges to accommodate all of the guests. When I asked reception if it was possible to get some extra chairs, I was told that they would be delivered to the pool. They never arrived. On the positive side, the view from our room was beautiful, overlooking the tea plantations and the food and beverage staff were very helpful and eager to provide good food and good service. (I recommend that they should train the reception staff how to provide professional hospitality) In short, the hotel could be very good if the reception staff got their act together.

Excellent service!! Hotel staff at each level puts in effort to make you feel Comfortable .Good food,clean rooms, quick service n beautiful ambience .. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay... Recommended
