We visited Kerala on 22nd Jan and stayed at Dream Catcher for 2 nights - 24th & 25th Jan 2017.
The experience was beyond what we imagined. It was indeed the best decision we made to choose Dream Catcher for our stay even thought its a little far from Munnar town. But the experience is worth it.
A Big Thank to the team for such a wonderful experience at Dream Catcher Resort.
The team was very helpful and indeed their Resort Manager called us to ensure we are on the right path when we were a bit delayed on the arrival day. It was nice of him to call us for help in directions to reach the Resort.
The ambience is absolute rejuvenating. Thank you very much for providing us with the top balcony view R No 301 which is a sweet memory for us forever.
The lush green environment and being in the midst of Tree plantations was like an icing on cake for us in Kerala. We liked the food served at the restaurant and Mr Nibin and his team were very hospitable, not to miss their selection of songs or music is apt to the surrounding.
We had a good trail at the plantations and very happy to meet the Plantation Manager who guided us through the spice plantations.
The resort is definitely recommendable for one who wishes to be away from the crowd and enjoy the serenity.
It is also appreciable that the Drivers getting the guests are provided with Dinner. It means a lot :)
We wish the team Loads of success for years to come.

Beautiful resort, helpful staff, lovely ambience that too with the lot of varieties of food.We enjoyed our 2 day stay with Dream Catcher Resort Munnar. It is a best choice if you are looking to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded city. Also do take a walk in their Tea gardens and watch the lovely sunset, immensely pleasured moments, thanks for making our stay Wonderful :).
No doubt that the location is very good. It's difficult to find such experience at such price.
My husband and I visited The property on 26 January 2017.
I admired the tree houses and the plantation itself.
However, my experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
A month ago when my family visited this place, they really enjoyed the hospitality.
With us the scenario was different.
My agent booked room Superior whereas we were accommodated in deluxe room.
On first floor there are only two superior rooms rest are deluxe.
How I am so sure is because I confirmed the same from the staff members.
It is there on different travel websites as well.
However , after requesting the same to front desk and Mr Manoj(manager)
We were not shifted in the room we paid for.
There was another family who booked the accommodation through goibibo/yatra ( I do not remeber) and they were also given deluxe room while they booked a superior room.
Superior room has extra single bed and is definitely better than deluxe rooms.
The other family had quite an argument and my efforts also failed to convince them for changing our room.
My father had a good experience with Mr Manoj and my father had many good words to say about him.
I have also heard that the property upgrades the room if there is availability.
My agent did say that they can change our room the next day but our stay was only for one night.
So , I chose not to make much fuss and also not to spoil my holiday.
The big question is that my travel agent booked room around two months back than how did they not have superior room for my booking.
In evening I saw a family checking in for superior room.
Clearly, they had superior room available but they chose to lie repeatedly.
One of the staff member told me that even if they have rooms available they keep repeating about non availability of it.
I did not like a lot many things about this property.
Room: No complimentary tea/coffee.
When I went to the reception , I asked about the same. The guy at the counter said , " we provide that only in tree house".
No hospitality in tone, gestures or facial expressions. No doubt the staff is very rude.
I mean , really???
That's so common in hotels. And I don't think that they are charging anything less so that they refuse such basic amenity.
Staff is a big turn off here.
They barely understand Hindi or English.
And, what they try to convey to you takes us a lot of effort to understand.
When I was going through this struggle of getting the right room , my travel agent told me that the manager was in some meeting.
In reality , he took a group of firangs for jeep safari. He returned with them at 6:30 pm
I saw many foreigners and I believe that they prefer the whites more than Indians.
Restaurant : Now , we went to the restaurant. It's two side open. You can enjoy nature. I loved being here.
No arrangements for insect repellant though.
Our dinner was complimentary as we had already paid for it through travel agent.
They gave us a separate menu.
Not many options.
There were two guys. Sukhraj and a tall and dark guy in white shirt and blue jeans.
These people were handling the restaurant. Taking orders and serving.
Sukhraj was amicable but the tall guy was clearly ill mannered.
I asked this tall guy that we didn't want to have two vegetarian curry along with non veg instead we will have only one non veg starter and one non veg curry.
Basically , we cut down on our food order.
He did not understand probably and came back after 5 minutes of discussion with sukhraj that the menu that they gave us was not right. For us they have a different menu.
He returns after 5 minutes with same menu card and goes away after keeping on our table.
The whole duration when we were in restaurant, the tall guy kept giving weird looks. Whispering in each others ear while looking at us. As if he was obliging us by serving dinner.
We sat there for around 50 minutes .we had already placed order.
The tall guy comes and tells me that there is bonfire in garden and we must go and be there.
Well, we were informed about bonfire over intercom in our room.
But it really amused me that after placing order for food and still waiting in the restaurant for around 50 minutes , this guys expects us to go and see bonfire !!!
They started bonfire late that night . Around 8:30. I received call in room at 8 pm.
Honestly, it pissed me off. Ofcourse , we were hungry and waited for quite some time. And if at all we wanted to see bonfire we would have done that.
It's silly to expect the guest to move from their table after placing order and waiting for so long.
Bad etiquette infact!!!
I had to tell him firmly that we would have dinner first. Ironically , he was the same guy who took our order.
Then arrives the soup.
There was a group of foreign guests and us. Only two tables were occupied.
Service is extremely slow.
But the food was good.
I loved chilly chicken and butter chicken.
Noodles were fine too. Though chapati was nothing more than uncooked maida.
While we were still having food this tall guy comes and tell me, madam your balance is of Rs 220.
All right , Il pay but,
For God's sake, finally let me have my meal peacefully! Thought I.
And obviously I wondered why I had to pay again.
While serving food Sukhraj interacted with us and made us feel a little better.
While leaving I asked sukhraj about what amount we had to pay.
Sukhraj apologises and says ,nothing madam. Your payment was done in advance already.
In fact, Sukhraj was the only person I really liked at Dream Catcher. Very sweet person. I forgot to mention his name in feedback diary.
North Eastern 's are excellent cooks I must say.
They did not switch on any music for around 90 minutes.
When we were about to leave. They switched on music.
I felt that if music was there earlier, we would have enjoyed sitting there much more.
Surroundings: In the middle of cardamom(outside resort) and tea plantation. 4 tree houses in plantation.
I loved being there.
U can click many good pictures.
A cute hanging bridge to go across plantation.
My experience was good only because of the beauty of mother nature.
My parents loved there stay in tree house however I did not opt for it for the fear of insects and hygiene.
I would certainly come back only for the love of nature .
One exclusive experience.
Highly Recommended !!!
Hi. I'm Sukesh from Hyderabad and I planned on a sudden, short , weekend getaway to Kerala for three nights . I put up a request and ZARINA. My agent. Was quick to respond. I made quite a few specifications. A lot infact. ZARINA was patient to hear it all out and actually make sure all of it was done. Infact she's helped me during the planning and through out the trip, by texting me every single day, asking how the day went by and if there was anything she could do to make the next day better. Personally, I never write reviews , but im doing this just for zarina, cz my family and I are truly impressed by the care she took about all of us , although she wasn't physically present with us at Kerala.
And I highly recommend you to specifically ask for her, if you're planning your trip anywhere in and around India. I'm positive she'll do what's best for you
About the resort, lovely lovely place. I spent one night there. In the three house. Yes. It was expensive. Yes. The room was half the size the kids room , back at my place. But it was totally worth it. It's a huge resort spread over 16 acres offering great views through out. If you're going there, I suggest you ask for a tree house and a guided tour through the plantation. It's totally worth it. To finish it, I sat with a huge mug of coffee, in the balcony on the treehouse, just enjoying that majestic view
All that said, it's uphill. It's straight uphill. And if you're driving by yourself or you're drivers not familiar with the area, I suggest you reach the resort before 5 PM. I kid you not, it gets scary beyond it. There are two ways to get to resort and make sure you find out, the easier way uphill. Take a driver along. Always. Especially if it's beyond 5/6 PM
We loved the view from our room. It had a balcony with a platform to sit and enjoy the view. Kid loved that. The food and stay was awesome. Their hospitality was awesome. It is a bit away from main Munnar and that can be a challenge if we want to plan anything beyond sunset. But we came with the intention of enjoying our stay and we did just that. The hanging bridge concept connecting the main building to the plantation and tree houses is an adventurous idea and quite thrilling. I would recommend this place to my friends
