Had a good experience overall...Thanks!!
What a lovely place with great rooms. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was delicious. The whole experience made stay memorable.
An excellent hotel - awesome location, service & food was great, staff were friendly, value for money, I absolutely liked this place & recommend tea country to all visitors.
I was booked for a deluxe room and on arrival, downgraded to a normal room which was really poor...absolutely unacceptable service from the hotel.
The food options need to be improved. The quality and choice of food do not match the hotel facilities, desserts were never good. Also a shuttle service from town to hotel should be started.

We stayed for two nights at the KTDC Tea County Resort, Munnar for two nights and this resort really made our stay a memorable one. The resort is huge and has a colonial old world charm which is missing in modern day resorts. The resort although being located at the heart of the town is saved from the chaos and bustle of Munnar town owing to it's elevated location. Yet it is reachable by foot to the other amenities. Services are good and staff is warm and friendly. The breakfast spread was huge and had options for both Indian and western guests. The rooms are large and have small balconies overlooking the hills below. The restaurant and spa is expensive. We had ayurvedic massage done at the spa and found it satisfactory. Just a few points before considering this property-being spread over a large area rooms are accessible by walking through uphill terrain and stairs. Please consider this if you have elderly guests or people who are not comfortable with walking.
The hotel and its garden is beautiful-spacious,well maintained! But food is not up to the price. We were served with lukewarm tea and though the staff was kind enough to serve the tea again,it was still not hot.Disappointing for the state which produces so much tea!We also had chicken sandwich(which was good) and veg cutlet(which was not good). Most of food served at buffet was also cold.I had massage in the spa.It was also expensive and was nothing exceptional. However, room was spacious, clean with a beautiful view.
Hotel is situated at the top of hill.KTDC has maintained the hotel very well.Large parking space is available.garden very well maintained.we booked the premium room which was very spacious.hotel staff is very courteous.food is average.
Our first impressions were fantastic...great location just above the town, beautiful grounds, grand heritage buildings. Other positives were the billiards, table tennis and chess, which our kids really enjoyed. The negatives: worst breakfast we experienced in our three week trip (on the third day our kids slept through breakfast, they just didn't want to go). Yes it's a large buffet and you might think me picky for my comments, but breakfast was COLD, not just once but everyday. Tea County do not have a toaster for guests to use, so the toast is all precooked in the kitchen and cold by the time it comes out...so are the omelettes and all the Indian options, soggy dosas, yuk! Sorry but I would rather have less selection as long as it is fresh and HOT!! We saw the most amazing produce grown in and around Munnar, but our fruit choices for three days straight - bananas and pawpaw. (Why?) Tea County is not a cheap place to stay, so the breakfast experience immediately made this hotel poor value for money. Such a shame when it appeared so lovely and so promising at first. The other issue we had was that our rooms were not cleaned at all the day after we checked in. We came in late in the evening after a big day out, and realized that apart from not having our room cleaned, the bigger problem was that we had no tissues, no toilet paper, no water. When we spoke to the front desk (politely!) about not having our room cleaned, the response was that we had not put out the sign on the door handle and we had taken our key out with us! What?? Firstly we did not have a sign in our room, (should have been apparently but it was missing) second, since when has that been mandatory and how are you meant to know that, and thirdly, are you serious? You are trying to tell me the hotel does not have a spare key to the rooms? - I don't think so! Had the hotel just apologized for the oversight, then no problem, it happens. But blaming the guest for not having their room cleaned, nuh uh, that's not on.
we stayed 1 night. hotel garden and building itself are really nice, service is ok, however, rooms are basic, especially for this price. breakfast buffet is preliminary indian style and honestly not really good. we didn't feel the hotel is up to (international) standard, especially for the price paid. we won't stay there a 2nd time.
