The location of the resort is great. You get a very vood view from the room. The staff is great and are very professional. They upgraded our room to Honeynoon suite from deluxe. You can spend lots of time taking pics in the resort i.e if you love bird watching. Food was good however cost is exhorbitant. That is the reason why I have given 4 stars. For example cost of Tandoor chicken is Rs.1200. In Bangalore the most expensive resrurant would charge you around 800 max. Also the taste of the food does not warrant such high price.
Do note that the location is a bit remote. Hence getting stuff from local market is time consuming and would be an issue if you do not have your own vehicle.
The room type booked for our holiday at Rivulet Resort was the Royal Suite. Unfortunately, this room has a long staircase DOWN into the room which me and my Husband was not agreeable to use, due to our own bad knees. We were given the room above it...the deluxe Honeymoon room, and it has a much better view of the surroundings, spice garden and beautiful hillviews. This was a very large room with a balcony and a separate sitting area furnish with furniture, flask to boil hot water, refreshment facilities and toiletries. I give a clear thumbs up for cleanliness.
We had 2 breakfasts, and 1 dinner at the Rivulet restaurant. Breakfasts were the local
Kerala fare of different vegetable curries, with at least 3 kinds of breads like idli, chapati, and putu. There was also the puri bread, delicious! The menu was not quite the international cuisine offered. This place is a boon for Muslims who require HALAL
meals, as the whole restaurant served the same even with non-vegetarian items.
The surrounding area has a supposedly river running next to the rooms & suites, but due to the prolong drought at Kerala, it has also affected the rivers, waterfalls and low tides at the backwaters, too.
The ambiance at Rivulet Resort is quiet and peaceful, a place to unwind, relax for a few days. As this resort is situated about 13 kms away from the main Munnar centre, we had hired a driver & his cab to move us around to the other tourist destinations at Munnar, which are quite far off.
Please don't stay here.
Seriously, we went by the pics and reviews , and spent 12500 for 2 nights. This resort booking will never fetch u any discount, but anyway we were expecting it to be good.
Villas are spacious, but location wise, it is situated in a valley, so you will not get a great view of mountains and tea plantations.
There are many more hotels with a lesser price and much better view..Go for Misty Mountains,Club Mahindra ,The Fog..there are many good hotels with an awesome view.
Their breakfast starts from 8:00 AM, they offer to take u for a 1.5 hour nature walk which includes spice and bamboo plantation visit starting 8:00. This means u will have to stay hungry till 9:30
The toiletries provided were of such low quality. The bottles had the name 'Rivulet' almost scratched, which means they keep refilling the same old bottles.
The max wi-fi speed that u will get their is 1mbps.
My suggestion is to please go for better hotels ,if u intend to spend this much money.
this property is one of the best hotel in munnar. and its best for family too... one travel agency from kochi Yatramantra Holidays suggested me this property. thanks for the Friendly resort staffs....
Almost 13km from munnar town..
Took 30+mins n some steep hairpin bends to reach the valley resort but the first encounter with the place pays for the patience..
Very scenic river bank location.
Total green surroundings in mountain descends..
A small dam with pool with rocky bed really rocks.
Stagnant, still winter waters with variety of local water birds to watch, listen n snap at dusk n dawn.
Rooms well kempt n staff very cooperative.
Breakfast has narrow range n average taste.
No inhouse bar. Ensure own reserves.
Perfect place for solace n privacy.
