Another Little Piece of Heaven Another Little Piece of Heaven

Windermere Estate is an absolute MUST! Simon, John and the team are excellent in every way you can possibly imagine. Every day of our 6 night stay was met by enthusiastic and brilliantly attentive staff. The rooms that we had were incredibly comfortable and spacious with wonderful wet rooms which were ideal after a hard day walking and discovering the local area with our guide, Ansil. The views were magnificent and the bird song in the morning was beautiful. Each night chef prepared fantastic range of beautiful dishes with a great variety of local produce - a true feast and one that was always met with great anticipation. DELICIOUS! All in all, this was probably one of the best holiday destinations that my wife and I have found on our travels - mesmerising in so many ways with beautiful views, delicious food and enchanting people who go out of their way to make their home yours. Do not miss an opportunity to stay - its worth everything.

What a beautiful Place to stay in Munnar What a beautiful Place to stay in Munnar

Peaceful. Great Service. Lovely Food. Great Views. Nice rooms. What more do you want? Fantastic views over the valley from the Hotel's Rock View Point - above the clouds at times. The restaurant has a fixed menu, so you have to accept what's on that night, but it was truly excellent. Barbeque under the rock one night, which is a great way to meet and chat to other guests. The rooms are not modern, but very spacious and comfortable. Tea shack open afternoons for a drink and snack Outside pool if you have time Cant recommend it highly enough if you are visiting Munnar

This is a lovely little hotel in the midst of the Tea and Cardamon plantations near Munnar. Simon the owner and all the staff were really welcoming, helpful and friendly. The food was very good, but perhaps they are a little too cautious with the spice levels, worrying about European tastes. On our first night the staff put on a barbecue by the big rock and this was a great way to break the ice. In each room there was a torch as the site is quite dark at night, but to be honest it probably wasn't needed as every time we approached some steps in the dark a member of staff appeared with a guiding light. It was quite misty for most of our two night stay, obscuring some of the views. Hard to gauge the cost as this was part of a packaged trip through Experience Travel Group in London and one of three hotels we stayed at. The overall cost of our trip was very good value.

Beautiful property visited on a bad day! Beautiful property visited on a bad day!

Its a long drive from Cochi - 5 hours but very impressive once you get there. The property is immaculate and very well cared for. The staff are amazing as is the food. Our visit was marred by no electricity which meant no lights, heaters or hot water so we had to improvise with the candles provided. Great plantation trek in the afternoon with a local guide arranged by the property.

My wife and I stayed for a couple of nights in mid December, in room 104, which overlooks the valley and Cardamon plantation. The highlight of our stay was easily the food, which consisted of a set menu of traditional Indian food. What it lacked in choice it made up for in quantity and quality. The staff at the estate are extremely friendly and helpful albeit watch out for the late night/early morning lights check. Basically, every night someone visits each room to make sure the outside light is on. Problem is that with no blackout curtains the whole room lights up. Similarly, in the morning someone comes round just before it gets light to turn the light off. Honestly it's not a huge thing but my wife is a very light sleeper. Would I stay here again, most definitely.
