We stayed at Shoreline Hotel , Murud Janjira booked via Travelguru on 19th and 20th of May . Suffice to say that our experience of this hotel was extremely bad . It fails miserably on all counts - location , food , service etc . On a scale of 0 to 10 , I will give this place perhaps 1/10 .
Location : The hotel is situated right on the edge of the road . There is ZERO parking space . We somehow managed to squeeze our car right along the hotel wall , leaving just enough space on the rest of the narrow road . It is called Shoreline , but the beach is not visible from any corner of the hotel . The beach is close by , sure , but that in itself is not such a big deal in a small place like Murud .
Service : Pathetic is the only word to describe it . We asked for twin bed , instead got a double bed in both rooms . They could not even provide an extra blanket on request . Even basic amenities like towels and soaps were unavailable . Moreover , only one person - a boy around twenty years of age - handled everything from the reception to showing us our rooms to bringing our luggage . Suffice to say it was all very slow and time consuming . Then we had a light problem in one bathroom , so instead of fixing it , they opened another room for us , with a decidedly dirty bathroom .
Restaurent : They do have a so called restaurent . The place was shrouded in darkness when we came down for a small snack around five . The reception near by also had no lights on , making the place look really cheap . Then the receptionist , who was also the waiter had only omelette and sandwich on the menu . That's all , in a hotel which Travelguru gave three stars . This too took a lifetime , since they had only one cook who also did other minor chores . So this whole place , Travelguru please take note , was run by a couple of people . We didn't have any meals there after that . After returning from dinner elsewhere , we found the whole hotel shrouded in darkness .. no concept of keeping lobby lights and reception area lights on . And yes , they didn't have any facility for the driver either .. just adjusted him in the lobby .
Pricing : Exorbitant . Does not justify the pricing any which way . There were better hotels at half the price which skipped , believing Travelguru's reviews of this ShoreLine Hotel . The pricing should be at least half , if not one third , considering the pathetic service on offer .
Conclusion : 1/10 . Steer clear of this place . There are better places to stay in the area . And travelguru please give me a sound reason why I should refer to your website for my next booking ?
