We stayed as a family of 4 in two rooms over the weekend. The property in itself breathes opulence and old world colonial charm. The wooden furnishings seem to be solid teak wood or mahogany and are wonderful. The grand dining room is a phenomena in itself along with the lovely chandelier at the entrance. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the basic rooms which we took had a lovely bed room, a powder room, a well appointed bath room and the back door opening out to a pristine verandah. Here are a few con's which I observed: *The in room coffee maker in Room 23 was damaged and was immediately replaced when brought to the attention of the front office. *The flush in Room 24 was not working properly which was again fixed immediately when brought to notice. *In a property of this caliber, I'm assuming all of these things should have been checked prior to the room being rented out to guests? I'm assuming this was an oversight. *When we visited the grand dining hall for dinner, I asked the usher if Ala'carte' options were available, and she said yes they were, whereas the head waiter contradicted her statement and said it wasn't since there was an event being hosted at the hotel and hence guests would have to partake of the buffet. I should hope restaurant staff should be calibrated before informing the guest? :) *In the course of the buffet dinner, I wanted a repeat of the strawberry tart and I was told that it was finished. I had counted only 6 covers since we went fairly early for dinner at around 8 PM? A five star running out of a second helping in a buffet after feeding 6 covers was a little surprising? The saving grace was Kuldeep who promptly came over and inquired and said that he could get us a tart if we waited for a few minutes, but I wasn't in the mood by then. *Kuldeep who was part of the restaurant staff was indeed a star and he was constantly uet unobtrusively present taking care of our smallest of needs. A fantastic employee and an asset to the property. *We had mentioned that we were celebrating 2 special occasions, namely my parents 35th wedding anniversary and our short yet sweet honeymoon together when we made our reservations on travel guru and I also informed the reception about this. I was a tad disappointed that there wasn't even a single special gesture from the hotel for any of these occasions. If I am asked if I will stay here again, the answer is definitely a yes for the property, but I do hope they resolve the teething service issues.

Went there for a short family outing.. Received a warm welcome with smiles everywhere. The staff was courteous and helpful. Room was good , clean but a bit small. Restaurant was also good with almost everything on menu. Really a fabulous stay. The view from the property, the weather and the ambience was very good which made our stay comfortable and enjoyable.

We were at dehradun for diwali celebrations when the foodie family decided to have a luncheon at the Savoy.About and hour and fifteen minutes drive from dehradun we reached Savoy which was nestled amongst the picturesque and bustling town of Mussoorie.The 100 year old hotel is a delight to the eyes because of its architecture and vast open spaces. We decided to have lunch at the "grand dining room" . The all day dining restaurant has a simple yet delectable choice of menu that has something for all the taste buds. We primarily ordered Indian food which was served quick and at the right temperature.Their signature dal was really outstanding and reminded me of the dal at Bukhara @ Delhi Maurya. We usually say that if a restaurants busy mistakes can be overlooked but in an empty restaurant even the smallest are magnified.Besides the Indian food the club sandwich ordered took forever to come ,may be the order was my placed by the waiting staff.The cheese cake ordered seemed clearly from an old batch as the cheese cake has a tendency to absorb the flavours and odour of the things around it and I could smell the entre refrigerator .we did order another portion and that one seemed to be from a recent batch with a better taste and texture. I would definitely suggest the restaurant for an Indian meal, but would give the European stuff a miss based on my experience.Having said that I would not take anything away from the chef's and the service staff, they are doing an outstanding Job.The gentleman at our table was hospitable and pleasant. Do visit the hotel ,eat in and then later enjoy the picturesque mountain's at the back

This is one of the best five star resort i have ever stayed, very elegant and historic which is really a wonderful mix of old world charm and new age conveniences. The location of this hotel is great ,very near to mall road ,there is a very steep road just a few steps ahead from gandhi chaunk towards kampty fall road which takes you to a very calm place where no noise of busy mall road or any traffic as it lies on a hillock.They have 247 pick up and drop facility for mall road .Nice gardens,lawns ,play zone having indoor and outdoor games . I stayed in this property for 2 nights with my family.The rooms were great,comfortable and well kept ,there are all the facilities one can think of.Spent a very relaxing and peaceful holidays. Only drawback we found is that bathrooms are little small ,lot of walking required which makes it difficult for old aged people and for people like me who is having difficulty in walking or climbing stairs.whole facilities are in one direction like starting from entrance first comes standard rooms then exclusive and then suites afterwards dining room which is having lot of stairs so if you stay in standard room then in starting you have to walk less from the entrance but then you are far from dining area and vicaversa. Of course they can provide breakfast in your room . Another problem we faced was at the breakfast where we found worst breakfast till date ,very cold ,no service which made us surprised as hardly any one mentions this in earlier reviews,This may be due to lack of staff as our stay was immediately after diwali festival but it was the only sad part of our stay which we had also shared with mr Rajeev Chopra ,G.M but didn't get any good response. In spite of all these short coming we still want to come back to this leisure hotel.

I had come for a short trip to Mussoorie, and found Savoy one of the most beautiful place. They have beautiful lawns and very pretty rooms. The staff were very nice and helpful.Since I was staying with my cousin I couldn't stay back at Savoy, but was given a very good property show around. Will definitely love to visit Savoy again.
