Stayed here for four nights over Christmas. Location was brilliant as it was close to relatives that we were visiting. We also had our dog with us so finding a dog friendly hotel was a bonus. The breakfasts were also good buffet style but full English with plenty of tea/coffee.
The staff were friendly enough but there was no room service on both Christmas day and boxing day. In general the bedroom was very shabby and desperately in need of updating and a makeover. There was no heating the first night but there was an electric fire in the wardrobe which did the trick. Most of the electric plugs did not work and the lighting was dreadful with only two lights working. The cutrains which had definitely seen better days draped over the radiators so the heat did not radiate into the room. I did try to tuck the bottom of the curtain behind the radiator but it was not ideal (see enclosed photos). The room was on the ground floor and the window was next to the main hotel entrance so there
was no privacy with the curtains open. I don't think we will be staying here again unless there are some drastic changes.

Went to the Chimney house for Christmas Dinner, supposed to have been feather of beef, bearing in mind I've had this before elsewhere, and it was delicious, I thought I'd order it at the Chimney house and so did the rest of my family. It was like old boot leather and wasn't feather of beef. The starter was ham hock bon bons, three large balls, dry as a bone with a bit of salad and picallili. No finesse just slapped on a plate, nothing special, for the price we paid we'd have got better food at the local carvery. We were offered a glass of prosecco on the house but only two of us drank alcohol, the others had tea and coke, and they charged us for it. Totally disappointed, won't be revisiting, ever. Plush in the reception area, but toilets are disgusting and the black unit that was behind us was thick with dust. You need to get your act together and get a chef who knows what a feather of beef is and can cook.

4hr journey feom Devon with my husband and son, arrived shattered, exhausted and hungry to be told the restaurant was closed due to a private party. We then went into town and couldn't get in anywhere due to Xmas party season, so ended up having a kebab on a park bench in the cold. When finally getting back to the room, there was many faults. Rock hard bed, heating stuck on maximum, no water in rooms, kept awake until 3am by the party goers and a TV with no channels. Complained to the receptionist first thing to be lied to blatantly about a few things with then an artificial apology 'sorry' NEVER Again will I be coming here. We visit regularly, shame. Just purely disgusted by the poor service and room quality.
National Trust Weekend visit.

Visiting Little Moreton Hall we stayed overnight at the Chimney House Hotel. A warm welcome at reception we had received several e mails confirming our requests during our stay which were all accepted. We were allocated RM 19 which was functional but in line with our request for a ground floor room. The room had all the facilities you would expect. Road noise was acceptable. The restaurant was not open which meant a change of plan. We had help at reception which gave us options in Sandbach ,2 miles away. We dined at the Old Hall which was very good. Breakfast was all organised and hot. We particularly liked that all the jams, marmalade were on a tray on the table.
I would like to thank Receptionist Lynn who helped me find where to make a specific purchase at a store near home. Overall. this hotel is worth a visit, near the motorway and we would stay here again.

We had our Christmas party last night, and I very much enjoyed it. The food was tasty, and the portions generous. The bar was a little expensive, but that's not much of a surprise. The room was large for a single room, and came with a double bed, and the bathroom was clean. Breakfast was buffet style, and had hot and cold options, and the view from the dining room was lovely. The hotel is a main road and serviced by two bus companies, but there is no pavement, so it's a bit hazardous in the dark, but there is plenty of parking space if you're a driver. The staff were helpful and friendly. I've paid similar prices for single room bed and breakfast in other hotels, and received much less than this. Would definitely stay again.
