Ideally located outside the busy city but near to the ring road. Rooms were huge well furnished. Very clean had all the necessary toiletries. Ambiance outside and inside is great. Service desk is just a call away. Loved the restaurant, good food with variety. Being a vegetarian I could find lot of options. I would recommend to try biryani all varieties, Matki and on the sizzler. Outdoor activities are missing in this resort. Frankly there are no outdoor activities. Not even a free area to sit or play. Outdoor is green all covered and no space.

Pleasant and Relaxing!! :) Pleasant and Relaxing!! :)

by Arvind W on February 17, 2017

Stayed here for 3 nights. The only thing I was looking for was a relaxing stay and got what I expected. Candle Light Dinner at Olive Garden on 14th Feb was amazing, Food is also good but overpriced. Few things to improve. The towels in the bathroom are really old and don't feel like using them, They need to be replaced. The Chairs/Tables in the sit-out are poorly maintained, Its high time they need polishing.

I'm afraid we rather reluctantly stayed at the Windflower as our first choice of hotel in Mysore was booked up and we were assured this was the next best option. We stayed here a few years ago and were pretty underwhelmed then but needs must! Our room was on the first floor and was more of a suite than a room. There was a large sitting area with sofa, desk and chairs and mysteriously a bar (just a bar no drinks) with stools around it. A small veranda overlooking a central courtyard with a pond occupied by geese and the odd duck and pretty enough. The bathroom was large with a walk in shower and a bedroom with a huge bed, another two sofas, a wardrobe and dressing table with tea/coffee making facilities. One of the reasons I was in no hurry to rush back to the Windflower was the bed which is a 4 poster set up on two wide steps all the way around - like a throne - and designed to bash your ankles and shins every time you get in and out of it. I've tried leaping at the mattress, stepping sideways up the steps, missing one step and then launching myself at the bed - all attempts have the same result - pain... Travellers to India will know that there is nothing an Indian hotelier likes more than to confuse the unwary tourist with a bank of light switches totally unrelated to the available lights and appliances. The Windflower takes this fun challenge to a whole new level and there were at least 15 switches in our room but one bright light opposite our bed stayed stubbornly on and eventually we had to admit defeat and call for help. A grumpy chap duly arrived and pointed out to we stupid tourists that the relevant switch was a foot behind the bedhead - silly us! Next, I took a shower, which was cold. I figured out that as in some other places we stayed there may be a switch (god help me) somewhere that would turn the hot water on - and indeed ten naked minutes later I found one in the sitting room cleverly disguised as a light switch for the hallway.... who knew? Onto the food. The breakfast was good, lots of variety (including sweets for the children..?!) and if you are lucky you get one of the waiters who can remember your request for coffee/a bowl/a fork long enough to actually turn up with it before lunch service starts. On our first day we arrived at lunch time and order two very simple meals from the menu. We were the only people in the dining room, although there was a party of about twelve on a terrace close by whose food was wafting by as we waited, and waited and waited 45 minutes for our food at which point we were getting very close to the time we had to leave and after prompting something barely edible arrived. I am not a fussy eater, and certainly I'll scram anything I've waited nearly an hour for but even I could get only half way through. Finally, the hotel had a large group of young things staying who clearly having been let off the leash intended to party hard and very loudly from 7pm until 11pm, their capacity for non stop shouting was truly awesome I have to say, after which I managed to drift off hoping my bladder would last until the morning thus avoiding a painful blunder to the lav. Heyho.

View from the rooms on first floor is amazing. Service in the resort is excellent. We went to Windflower resort for a week day trip. The place had lots of ducks and a talking bird - which was very entertaining.. Also , .The place was near the city center.Overall, calm with a beautiful view of Chamundi hills. Great place for a nice stay and relaxing. More
