Short and sweet trip
by wkgomes on
Nestled away from the chaos.. not too far from the lake, an uphill walk on the way back, its a sweet place. Rooms are decent, only wish it was warmer. Had to shell out Rs. 300 for the heater per night. The staff was very warm and helpful. The breakfast generous and dinner decent. Overall is sweet simple and nice.
Not a good place to stay

I visited at this place as it was my Honeymoon and I booked it because I stayed there before, but in a different property ( which is shown in the 1st picture - its not there now).
Charged me for coming early . now tell me how can someone reach after 12 for checkin when the buses are not available at that time? somehow we checked in then we got to know that there is no hot water after 10 am. so if you need hot water in this weather then you have to wakeup early and if you are late then you will be charged again for it.
Again we were charged for breakfast as it was early check in. water bottle - chargeable - No car for drop..
The guys at reception were good though.. but overall very bad experience
Good property located away from Chaos

The best thing about this property is that it is on the high court road,Nainital which in itself is a quieter place than rest of the near by areas,so would be good if you really want to relax and enjoy your stay watching ecstatic views.
It was raining cats and dogs during our stay here as i visited Nainital in Monsoon season. But we didn't have any trouble as they have an in house restaurant offering plenty of tasty food options and everything is very less distant, easily accessible from your rooms.Staff is helpful, courteous.
I don't see any negative of this property except power failure(which i believe was temporary due to some fault in line during monsoon season). But i would still suggest the owner of this property to be more future ready and have some power backup installed to avoid such unwanted electricity disruptions.

From start to finish, staff bent over backwards to make us feel welcome, from selecting a Vastu compliant room, giving us extra towels and pillows to refresh ourselves and rest. This was needed to calm our frayed nerves of a cab drive from the plains to the Nainital hills by a driver who could easily have been a formula 1 contestant, speeding us on the winding roads with their hairpin bends, rearranging our anatomies from hearts in chest to mouth!
When we woke up, and wanted passive tv entertainment, the manager brought his registered mobile to select as many English channels on Tata sky as we wanted, from satisfying news to entertainment, movies and sports, all ready for viewing within minutes.
Darkness fell early and we asked the Owner and General Manager to recommend an early dinner. On hearing their continental menu was really good, we ordered Swiss Chicken and a Chicken sizzler with extra vegetables and garlic toast. They were absolutely scrumptious, a prelude to a tasty mug of chocolate coffee!
The morning dawned with a clear blue sky, the sun shining brightly, making us ravenous for breakfast. What a treat that was, orange juice, fresh guava, stuffed paratha and hill potatoes, a hot spot of capsicum, onions and tomatoes to complement a cheesy, savoury omelette and buttered toast, drowned by that same ethereal chocolate coffee!
On returning from work, found a repeat performance of entertainment, bonfire, great continental dinner, peaceful slumber and an enjoyable breakfast!
Had to pinch ourselves to find we were in Nainital and not Gstaad, a Swiss town!
