I had always wanted to stay on mountains to experience peace, calmness, serenity and heard about this cottage in Pangoot. It was actually an escape from harsh city life to an utopian place, full of fun, adventure and joy . It felt like home away from home.
The place has an ideal location, beautifully surrounded by mountains and very hospitable. Despite of being on a mountain, they provide you with all amenities, good rooms, and tasty food. The owner and the staff were very helpful and very hospitable.
If you want to relax and get refreshed, this is definitely going to be your perfect escape! It literally felt like living in natures lap.
P.S dollar, their dog escorted us the entire time. Will miss him a lot.
This is my first review on tripadivsor, This hotel is situated as such an amazing place, i had to write a review about it. I visited this place with my family,
1. Hotel - 5 --- The view from the room is spectacular, rooms are clean and spacious with all the basic amenities.
2. Food 5. - I guess the best part was the food. It was freshly prepared and served. They start preparing the food only after the order.
Tip: Please order 30 minutes to 1 hours before, this gives them plenty of time prepare it for you. My mother that usually doesnt like to eat outside, was surprised to see the food tasted like home.
Pankaj and Yogesh were very polite and courteous.
3. View: Simply sit in-front of your room and enjoy the sunsetting over the hills. This is located approx 800 meters from the road and verl well marked. The short trek uphill is filled with flowers. the lodge is situtated on top of the hill which provided an eagle eyes view. You can see the snow capped Himalaya peaks right from you rooms.
This place deserves to be visited multiples time,
Oak trails is definitely worth visiting and staying to relax and rejuvenate yourself. Its location in the lap of nature and the wonderful way in which it has been designed, just takes your heart away. Entire staff is courteous, food is awesome and it just feels like a home away from home. You just don't feel like leaving the place. In order to make your stay comfortable please do carry woollens along. And in terms of mobile connectivity, only Jio and bsnl were working during period of our stay.
Situated at a height in the village Haryal...the Oak Trails is a beautiful place to perch yourself.
It was an impromptu getaway from Delhi on this Holi......A smooth drive and so worth it.
The trip begins with a beautiful walk up the mountain trail to the lodge. You can immediately feel the change in the temp as u walk up.
its about 20 mnts walk, a little short of a Km... which was the best part!!!!....as we did walk up and down a number of times while we stayed there for 3 days long trip.
The lodge has a good variety of trees visited by mountain birds... I believe summers would see a lot of flowering variety too.
The accommodation has a few neat, simple cottage rooms, with basic amenities.
A functional geyser and a choice of a spacious cottage would have been better for our stay.....but It being the last corner cottage, peace and serenity made up for it though.
The staff is nice and helpful with your requirements.
Food menu is basic but the cook enthusiastically obliges you with dishes on the menu the way you would like it done. The drinking water is from the mountains, if u are particular bottled water is available. Fresh air and fresh water suited me fine.
The dining area is tastefully done and and a nice place to sit around if it gets cold and windy in the evenings.
The complete 3 days trip was all about the walks & treks up and down the mountains around. Simply Awesome!!!
Most imp to carry with you is a good pair of shoes and comfortable clothing to walk in. ...maybe a book as no network is a welcome break.
Pangot-Hariyal is known as a bird watchers paradise... a good camera will get u good captures.
There are no shops around so carry along your most essential needs.
You can tap Mr. Bobby the owner anytime for any assistance as he is available in person or over the phone most of the time there.
Will look forward to another trip here when the mountains call :)
This is the place where time slows down. We spent 2 nights here, but it felt like much more. Beautifully and artfully designed by Mr Bobby, this place deserves a visit once, and then you will want to keep coming back.
The lodge is situated 4 kms ahead of pangot in village haryal. You need to trek for 850 mtrs through the beautiful jungle to reach the lodge. It is an easy trek, but elderly people might find it a bit tiring but once you reach the property, you will be pleased to find this hidden gem of a place. The welcome drink offered takes away all your tiredness.
The staff Govind and Yogesh are very helpful and will prepare whatever you ask in a very short time, which I was not expecting. The owner Mr Bobby is also very helpful and took care of our needs while we were there.
We sat in the lawns for the entire day and took some walks in the jungle behind the lodge. Their dog Dollar guided us very well on the trek. The trek stretches to around 10kms and takes you to different villages. You can get to see some species of birds on the property and the sunrise and sunset are not be missed if its a clear day. I was also lucky to get a very clear view of the Himalayas.
Overall it was a very unique experience for me, one which I will cherish for very long and hope to return here very soon.
