A wonderful boutique hotel A wonderful boutique hotel

by mmbakar on February 12, 2017

"BASIL The Residency" is a wonderful boutique hotel located in Sukhdev Vihar, on the main Mathura Road of South Delhi. A small establishment offering an array of facilities and "comforts" likely to make many larger establishments blush. For us , of course, the location of the place was a great PLUS. It is really close to "everything" in South (and Central) Delhi and to Fortis Escorts Heart Hospital. The hotel offers high quality accomodation at budget prices. Our Check in was fast and quick. The young lad manning the reception knew exactly what he was doing. The Deluxe Double Rooms were compact , neat and comfortable. An Extra Large Double bed or Two singles. Clean sheets, cushy mattress and soft pillows. A fair sized bathroom with toiletries and running hot / cold water ...... at all times. A flat screen TV with Cable connection, a mini bar / fridge, tea coffee maker ...... and daily Newspaper ...... and great WiFi connection ...... The Kitchen offered a limited menu of main courses and snacks but whatever was on offer was immensely palatable !! The FREE morning Breakfast was hot, healthy and a treat, really ...... freshly cooked and plated .......... The staff deserve a special mention for their diligence, professionalism and the extra effort they put in for each and every guest ...... quite amazing. Highly recommended !!

I stayed at Basil the Residency the night before my international flight after being in Rishikesh to do yoga. I got lucky and saw the sign for the hotel from the highway, so it was easy to find in my case. The room felt very luxurious and I stayed in the whole day, relaxing and ordering room service, which was delicious. Breakfast was really nice as well. They serve excellent coffee. I really felt like a queen. The service was excellent and I gave some generous tips. Really worth it if you stay in Delhi!

Awesome Little Place Awesome Little Place

I stayed here to go around Delhi with my sister. We wanted a place away from central Delhi yet accessible to go around. Thanks to Metro which is 2-3 km I guess from this place which helps. First thing we experienced is Hospitality. Every staff member from the guy who picked our luggage at car to the reception folks and kitchen folks were all very welcoming. So if you decide to stay here these guys can care for you. Rooms have everything you need for short travel and they are clean. I like big rooms with a lot of space to move around but I dint find this here so if you are like me then you know what to expect. Also if you like quieter rooms the pick something away from the highway. Otherwise I everything about this place was good. Enjoy staying.

Cosy, great value for money + kindest staff Cosy, great value for money + kindest staff

by Vivi M on January 7, 2017

The Basil Hotel is probably one of the best hotel finds in Delhi: its very well priced, its small but cosy and well decorated, it has a very homey feel and the staff are beyond attentive with their guests. My only regret is not having stayed here longer. Since our arrival, the staff greeted us with a warm smile, cold beverages and offers of Indian tea. When we went up to our floor, there was another staff member waiting to escort us to our room. Inside the room, not 5 minutes had passed when the hotel staff sent us a cordial sms with info about the wifi among other things. Five minutes later, they also came up with freshly brewed masala chai. Truly, this is a place I would look forward to staying in Delhi again. Thumbs up for everything!

Friendly staff, good food Friendly staff, good food

by Murray B on December 22, 2016

Very friendly and helpful staff (all of them) and we appreciated their consideration after late minute changes to our plans involving some cancelled nights. The bed was the moist comfortable of all our India hotels. The food was good and the waiter provided very good service. (One of the breakfast waiters was not so organised, but overall it was fine.) Basil the Residency is fairly tricky to get to - make sure you check carefully on Google Maps if going there by taxi the first time (if you miss the tight final turn it's a long way to come back). There is not much close by in terms of restaurants, so you'll either eat at the hotel or need to take a tuk-tuk.
