The hotel is nice, clean room, ideal breakfast but what its has been the most is the service really helpful!!! Excellent place to stay for a couple of days discovering New Delhi, the market near the hotel is so nice that you have to go
The Hotel is located near New Delhi railway station, 5 min walking distance from the Railway Station.
The hotel is located in a very narrow street which is the only thing u will dislike and that is the reason for 4 stars, otherwise, this hotel deserves 5 stars.
On the outside, the hotel is not very appealing, but once u enter the hotel premises it seems you are in a different place.
The hotel has a very good WiFi, the hotel staff are friendly.
The rooms are clean, a spacious bathroom.
The restaurant in the hotel is kind of average, some of the items are good some are not.
Since my "old favorite" on the opposite side of the road had the "house full" sign up, I decided to try something new and went into Aman Continental. The higher price (Rs 3200 vs International's 2000) is motivated by the cleaner, fresher and more recent decor of both common areas and rooms.
WiFi works exceptionally well, no trouble with the AC or hot water. Super comfortable bed. I found it a bit strange that there is a huge panoramic window between the double bed and the bathroom (as shown in the signature picture). I guess it is meant for honeymooners that don't want to hide anything between themselves, but luckily there is a shade you can pull down if you are two people with a not-THAT-intimate relationship sharing the room... or if your spouse simply has to go number two.
The rooftop terrace is a little bit boring in that the "walls" made of reed mats are too tall to show any of the surrounding areas. Sure, Pahar Ganj is not the most scenic area in Delhi, but it is still nice to bask in the atmosphere of where you are, compared to getting this feeling that you are a rich person hiding behind a high fence in order to not have to see the dirt around your house. The food is good though, but nothing extra-ordinary.
All in all, this is probably the place with the highest price and the highest luxury standard in Pahar Ganj. The painting of Guru Nanak on the wall left of the reception desk hints at a Sikh ownership, so try greeting them with a "sat shri akaal" when entering.
The location is right in front of New Delhi Railway Station. So, reaching from IGI Airport by airport line metro was comfortable till New Delhi Railway Station. Since Metro gates are to the opposite side, we had to face all autorickshaw enquiries and warnings, to find there is no public bridge to cross station. We had to platform ticket for it (which was not expected). Location is full of touts, beware!
Otherwise Reaching hotel was pleasant walk-in, rooms were as shown in site pics. I was handed keys, WIFI details without asking. Room was neat and clean all the time, with essentials topped up daily.
The morning breakfast was complimentary yet delightful and tasty. It was mix of Indian and continental food. We thoroughly enjoyed. I could not try meal at hotel since we were busy visiting tourist places throughout the day.
Hotel also has travel desk which we utilized for our Taj tour. Pricing was bit on higher than what I budgeted, but the journey was awesome.
Overall it was pleasant stay at hotel and I would recommend this for family stay!
It is close to New Delhi Railway Station in a crowded place and that is the only good thing about this hotel. Booked 2 A/C rooms. One room had cockroaches. This is the first time I have had cockroaches to accompany me in my hotel room. More than 15 Power cuts in a single night. When asked management said it happens and they have a backup. If there is a backup then there should not have been 15 power cuts in the first place. I had asked an airport drop at the time of booking. Even after this pathetic experience it was foolish of me to go ahead and ask the airport drop as I had to catch an early morning flight. I checked if they could have some concession or even include the cab fare as part of the package in light of the horrible experience. But the management blatantly declined mentioning that travel desk takes care of it as if travel desk is not part of the hotel staff. The condition of the cab was even more pathetic. It looked like some old mini van with no A/C. Never again going to book this hotel.
