I have been staying here since long time and have no hesitation in suggesting this place for budget travelers. Though they are not equipped with many amenities, but basic ameneties good. Familier and friendly staff. Word of caution, in some rooms BSNL Network coverage is very poor (though not fault of hotel)
Like all indian big cities Delhi offers you a huge choice of hotels spread all over town. If you arrive by train, it can be easy to drop your bags in close and overcrowded Paharganj area where backpackers settled since the earyl sixties. If you ask rickshaw drivers, they will often lead you to Karol Bagh telling you that the best options are there just because they will get a commission from the hotel. But both places are in fact tourist ghettos where you will not always satisfied by the quality of accommodations. Now that Delhi has got its quick and efficient metro, why not trying other quieter and easily reachable places ? Since fifteen tears, I'm used to stay in Old Rajender Nagar, 4 metro stations from the main Rajiv Chowk hub and close to Karol Bagh.
There, I always stay in Megha Palace Hotel that offers you mid range accommodations at nearly budget prices. Located at less than 200m from Rajender Place metro station in a quiet street, this place has always offered me all that I could expect : spotless rooms with attached bath, helpful staff, house keeping services and perfect room services (the cook is great and all dishes at very reasonable prices. For foreigners like me, sometimes a little bit tired of chilly, try the excellent Afghani chicken !). TV, fan and air con, wifi, electrical back up in case of power shutdown, hot water, fridge, in one word everything you don't always get in more expensive places.
If the hotel is full at the time of your arrival, try Megha Sheraton or Madonna, just 300m meters away) as they share the same management and offer you the same service.

I have been staying in Megha Palace for 3 days. Room and bathroom was clean. Hotel reception ask me to book directly than going via online websites but when I said I got 30% discount they kept quiet :)
I picked 1 out of 5 because it wouldn't let me pick zero.
We arrived to reserve a room for the following night and asked if we could check-in at around 8am the next morning. Of course we were told "no problem". The next morning we arrived and we were told we never showed up the previous night. They tried to charge us 1050 rupees for the previous night as they had checked us in by mistake. We naturally refused saying it was staff error and staff responsibility. The employee who had taken our reservation informed us that he had 500 rupees taken from his salary for his mistake. When we went to check out we added up the bill and the same employee had added 500 rupees for the night he had mistakenly checked us in for. After I got angry about this I was told to "RELAX". I was horrified that a receptionist would be so disgraceful and dishonest as to try to con us to pay for his mistake and I would not recommend this place if it was the last hotel in India.
Used for Business Trip of outstation associates. Very centrally located in Centre of Delhi in Old Rajender Nagar.
Just 2 minutes from Rajendra Place Metro Station and on the line which directly connects to Connought Place, where we needed to visit frequently.
Just average, but our purpose of a centrally located hotel, low budget and just decent rooms was fulfilled.
