Congratulations on a very friendly and efficient 'bijou' hotel in the heart of Delhi. We would certainly stay with you again and recommend you to friends.

I had a fantastic experience with this hotel. The rooms are pretty neat and clean. Staff are excellent of the hotel and their service is also great. For breakfast, I had boiled eggs, bread and fruits, which was served very well by the staff in my room.

This Hotel is located in Connaught Place in Delhi. For single person single room was fantastic. As we were two adults, room was very small for us but stylishly done. It had flat screen TV and the interiors were superb.

Stay at the Hotel Palace Heights Stay at the Hotel Palace Heights

by George H on March 19, 2017

We stayed at the Hotel Palace Heights after we had traveled back from Mathura/Vrindivan and Agra for Holi festival. We were definitely tired and dragging a lot of gear and this hotel was the perfect stop for a day prior to departing India back for the United States. The facilities were clean, the staff was very helpful and friendly, and the beds were quite comfortable. The wi-fi is good once you understand that it will cut out if your device goes to sleep for even a second, and there are parts of the hotel that it doesn't work well. We asked for a local spa to get a massage prior to departure, and it was not a good experience - that is the only negative thing that I can say about the hotel at all. Beware of places they recommend as well as some of the drivers that they use. We had our own cab that we had stayed in contact with throughout the week and thereby avoided some of the more aggressive drivers the hotel uses.

I really enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel, the area was a bit worrying but the room while small was good, clean and comfortable . Staff very friendly and attentive, brought us coffee( good coffee) and a special cookie. We ate at the adjoining restaurant which was very lively and the food was good.

Go for cleaniness and location Go for cleaniness and location

This hotel is clean and the staff is alway willing to help (like anywhere in India), but it's not an extremely luxury hotel if you would expect that. It's clean, has all the things you need, a fresh a la carte breakfast (hear, hear. Just fresh food!) and its location is great. New Delhi is never asleep, so beware that even during the night there can be some noise from the streets. It's never really disturbing, though. If you're looking for a great sleep: just don't go to India. In particular not to Delhi. Take your earplugs and stop focussing on what you hear is your only option to get a good night's rest. By the way, writing a reference just on the noise is way too one-sided. The pros of this hotel are clear to me: it's on walking distance to many interesting sights and the metro is also just some steps away. It's an excellent place to start your trip, as the area is safe even at nights.

My stay My stay

Everything was good at this hotel. When I was ill they sent a doctor right to my room and they even gave me a couple of free meals because I was unwell - that was a nice touch. The room was really smart and clean, a tad cosy (small) but that didn't matter to me. The men on the front desk were as helpful as they could be. Connaught Place location is also excellent for anyone who wants to stay in an area less 'pagal' than the more frequently touristed areas of New Delhi; namely Paharganj etc. I would love to see the hotel drop their prices a little; it is quite a steep fee for what it is. I would stay there again if in Delhi.

Excellent hotel, but beware of the drivers on airport pickup Excellent hotel, but beware of the drivers on airport pickup

This is an excellent hotel. It is comfortable, superbly clean, everything works, it has good wifi service (once you twig that they have two servers so you need to choose which one to connect to, depending on your room's location), and the staff are courteous and very helpful. A special mention to the staff on duty in the restaurant at breakfast time - they took time to chat with us and explain things to us and could not have been more friendly. At lunch and dinner time, the restaurant operates as Zaffran, which is so good that I am reviewing it separately in the restaurants section. The location is excellent - right on the central circle of Connaught Place, and about 50 metres from the metro station entrance. Two qualifications. First, the location does come with some inherent disadvantages: being so central, there's a lot of noise from outside until about 1am, especially at weekends; and the moment you put your nose outside the hotel, if you are an obvious tourist and don't immediately get into a tuk-tuk or taxi, you're going to be pestered to death by tuk-tuk drivers, street sellers, and people offering to be helpful - most of whom are anything but. And of course crossing the road is a death-defying struggle. So having a stroll round the shops, or looking for a local cafe (there are several good ones) requires determination. Secondly, we were (literally) taken for a ride by the driver the hotel sent to collect us from the airport, and taken to a nearby travel agency which falsely claimed to the government tourist office, instead of directly to the hotel; where were duly sold a package we didn't want, at a greatly inflated price, under various false pretences. This is the oldest trick in the book and we should not have been taken in, but we were exhausted from jetlag, a difficult immigration experience at the airport, and the problems posed by the cash crisis that was still in full flood at the time, so our defences were down. Eventually we complained to the hotel, and they did a good deal to sort things out. It is often said that hotels are in on these scams; I simply don't know. But clearly the drivers they use cannot be depended on to be honest, so be on your guard, and simply refuse to go anywhere but the hotel. And if you are nevertheless caught out, complain to the hotel immediately. To end on a positive note: very near the hotel is one of Delhi's less known but most impressive architectural sites, Agrasen ki Baoli. It costs nothing to go in and is amazing.
