Booked online following the suggestion of a guide book. The hotel is basic and old so dont expect any extras. The staff made a huge difference looking after me with food, drinks, takes and all. Location is questionable as its in the middle of Delhis slum so you get a very raw picture of things. At night things get better with the huge bazar. Not far from the train station

A middle of the road place to stay A middle of the road place to stay

I stayed here mainly because it was my last night in India, and I wasn't after anything special. My room was clean enough, and when I arrived, the chef (a nice man) offered to cook me an omelette and some toast. Considering it was nearly midnight, this was a blessing as I was tired and didn't fancy trying my luck with the local street food. By this point in my journey, I'd been to some real dives in India, so I wasn't actually that bothered that the AC was clunking away all night, and the room never got much below room temperature - at least there was a shower (no hot water, but this really wasn't necessary in the heat and humidity anyway), a relatively clean room, and WiFi. What might have tipped this review towards a 'very good' rating for me would have been if there had been real coffee in the morning with my breakfast! But I will say that watching some of the scenes of life on the street unfolding below the roof top bar made me very appreciative to have clean and safe food to eat!

Perfect base in Delhi Perfect base in Delhi

It's a clean budget place in a somewhat less noisy branch of the Main Bazaar, with excellent wifi (as good, that you can even stream Netflix on your device). Deluxe rooms for 850 has good view of the alley, excellent for people-watching. Rooftop restaurant has tasty food for reasonable price, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Airport pickup and drop is available. Its ideal to start and finish a longer journey.

I've been staying here since my first visit to India in 2001. The staff are excellent, and the rooms always clean, with immaculate white sheets on the beds, and a nice clean towel. The quality has definitely improved over the years, although the bathrooms could be better.

Expensive rathole full of cockroaches Expensive rathole full of cockroaches

If you wanna spent far too much money for far too little service that's the place to stay. My first room turned out to be a shared one - I had a mouse. After insisting on another room I got one mouse-free, at least, but with cockroaches almost the size of a mouse. Staff is unfriendly, far away from service-oriented and dishonest when it comes to agreements. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Seriously.

Demo Trip Take a look at the rooms. The one in the third floor with round bed is pretty comfy and more quiet and close to the balcony!
