Beware !! Beware !!

by drsatya2016 on November 15, 2016

The taxi driver took us (family) to this hotel, may be for his vested interest. The rooms were very dirty. Service was extremely poor (For providing one All-out' machine we had to request for 5 times, to run the geyser we phoned 7 times). For local sight seeing by bus, we paid full amount in cash, on the spot. But they refused to issue any ticket, nor did they divulge the seat no.s The guy repeatedly replied - "Tension maat lo - Baitha Denge". Ultimately our apprehension turned out to be true - we were allotted the last seats despite booking early. So, simply my suggestion is just stay away from this hotel, if you can.

Evil thieves/Roach Motel. Beware! Evil thieves/Roach Motel. Beware!

by sakuraNy on August 12, 2016

I got into Delhi late at night and a tuk tuk driver told me he knew a cheap hotel for 800inr. I know that's a ridiculous price for a hotel in India, but I had decided to check into a hotel for a few hours because I had ten hours before my flight so I let the tuk tuk driver take me to whatever hotel he gets a cut from for bringing in desperate late night guests to be overcharged. He takes me to the roach motel that is Hotel Royal Inn where they tell me the price is 995 inr, abour $15. I give the man at the desk 1000 inr and make no comment when my request for change is ignored. After an inexplicable 20 minutes for this vacant eyed man at the desk to write down my passport information and another 5 minutes scanning my passport over and over, I'm given a key. Yes, the room is of course awful and stuffy but it's just until my flight. I open my laptop to do some work and realize I forgot to get the wi-fi password so I try to call the front desk. The phone doesn't work. Again, not surprised. So I go down and ask for the wifi and am told they don't have any. I say ok, I'll need to go somewhere else, as this was the main reason I went to a hotel instead of straight to the airport. I get my bag and come back to get my money when the vacant man now is looking alive. "NO CANCELLATIONS!" he barks at me. No cancellations? Did I have a reservation? I had no idea what he was talking about but it became clear, that even though I hadn't even sat down on the bed and had literally just walked away from the front desk with the key two minutes ago, the second this greedy, dirty man had my money in his hands, it was gone. Even if I hadn't touched the key I know this man wouldn't have given me my money back. I had beautiful experiences in India and it is such a shame that my last moments in the country were with such a disgusting, greedy, thief of a human being and the hideous hotel that is Hotel Royal Inn. He chased me out the door and told me I had to sign out. (Sign out? Was I ever even "in"!?!) I wrote a giant NO on the guestbook as I refuse to act as i I stayed there and give them my signature saying I checked out. In retrospect I should have wrote THIEVES, or something else that started with a giant F and ended with an OFF, but the least I can do is warn people about this place. Because this was the worst hotel experience ,not just of my travels in india, but in my entire life. The absolute worst.
