After being taken to the wrong hotel by the rickshaw, we found the Sai. We had a very warm welcome, which was a relief. The room was basic but acceptable but the bed was too short for anyone over 6 foot. It was quiet but sadly lacked any windows. Glimpse views of the Taj from the rooftop terrace. We were told breakfast, at a charge, started 7 am...walked up at 7.30 to find the doors padlocked.. We had a very different experience checking out. Staff rude and unfriendly, but they did store our bags while we went to the Taj ( don't try to take any bags in there...they search everything very slowly!)

We had a very unpleasant stay here, and so did our travel friends. The room wasn't ready when we arrived after 8pm. Our booking said breakfast included, but when we asked them about it they said they didn't know what we were talking about. There were used razorblades in the bathroom and rubbish in the drawers. And the bedding smelt very bad. I know when you pay rs700 for a room, you don't expect the Ritz, but we got a similar price around the corner a week later (Raj Mahal), and it was ten times better. The only redeeming factor is that we managed to negotiate the price down to accommodate for our inconvenience.
