The Paharhang area is not the best place to be in Delhi. I had primarily come to visit the world culture festival in 2016. During my 2 day stay in the hotel, I was made to shift my room twice. Please do not buy anything from their canteen. I ate dinner ( Paneer butter masala+ 3 roti)from their self proclaimed rooftop restaurant which is essentially a dilapidated terrace surrounded by higher dilapidated buildings. Needles to say , I got stomach issues. Mind it it was the only food I ate in Delhi during my stay. .They even do not provide simple amenities like toothbrush/ tootpaste in the room- forget warm water. Half of the electrical connections in the rooms are out of the sockets, the rooms are shabby, not cleaned well - stains on bed covers, toilets included. The roomboys are eager to run errands for you just to earn quick bucks. The place is definetly not safe for women. They put me in a twin bed room even though I had booked for a deluxe AC through Agoda. The hotel manager was reluctant to give any compensation. I also was in no mood to stay and argue cause of my ill health and ended up staying with at my friend's house. If you have some decent money with you, please avoid this area like the plague. I

Searching for a hotel with most of the amenities for free, must explore STAR VILLA. Mr UMESH, the manager there is excellent with his warm welcoming and it stays throughout the stay.staff are very helpful
The rooms here may be OK but we never got past the front desk. We had deliberately chosen a hotel which allowed late check in, and booked in advance because we had a late night train arriving, then an onward journey at dawn the next morning. We added the train arrival time for them and asked them to hold the room because trains are often delayed but we would definitely be arriving as soon as possible. We booked in plenty of time and naturally presumed it was all fine since we had not heard anything to the contrary by the time we boarded the train. In the end the train stopped outside Delhi for two hours and it was almost 1am by the time we arrived, only to be told they had not bothered to honour the booking. We went back to the station and had to sleep there. But to make it worse the hotel had the cheek to say we had not showed up and tried to charge us, so we had to explain what happened to the company we booked through to stop the payment going through and so they didn't give us negative tags and prevent us booking without deposit in future. The hotel should not have advertised late check in and should not have accepted our booking if they were not prepared to honour it. They had plenty of time to contact us to let us know if they were not prepared to hold the room. It may be a nice hotel, but you might as well just turn up to see if they have space because booking in advance means nothing to them.
