A hotel where they aim to please! A hotel where they aim to please!

Driving through the Karol Bargh district, after being collected by the Hotel's airport shuttle service, and arriving outside the hotel, we were greeted by the doorman in uniform - nice touch! Our reservation went smoothly and we were allocated our room. Cases were taken upstairs for us but unfortunately we didn't have Rupees for tips at that time, but that wasn't an issue at all, and the staff were always polite, smiling and attentive; aiming to cater for our every need. The room consisted of twin beds, tea and coffee making facilities, a mini bar, en suite facilities and air conditioning, which can be a little noisy but for which we were very grateful! The room needed the floor sweeping and dusting, especially as I have asthma, but as soon as we mentioned this to the Manager, it was done immediately. There is free wifi which needs a password from Reception, but the printout needs to be larger and/or clearer to read it. Internet access goes in and out... Breakfast consisted of cereal, toast, tea/coffee etc to traditional Indian fayre, which we can recommend. The instant coffee could be improved upon by having a filter coffee maker, but I take my little cafetiere everywhere with me if I want to guarantee a good coffee! The waiters were very attentive, yet not intrusive - ideal. The swimming pool is next to the breakfast room, separated by a cheesecloth curtain, and needed a good clean, along with the changing facilities, so we didn't use it. It is only small and similar to a large corner bath. Airport shuttles, tours, trips and transport needs are all dealt with efficiently by the staff. We managed to book a tour from the hotel after they put us in touch with a company specialising in it, which was so helpful and fabulous. They also point you in the right direction if you choose to use public transport (!) and when we altered our booking to include an additional day, there was no fuss and it was fine. Being close to points of interest, we felt this hotel offered good value for money, with the hotel staff trying to cater for everyone's needs.We WOULD go again, which is the overall measure, I suppose!

We booked this hotel through and had a local friend check with reception when we arrived at the train station if all was ok as we were late arrivals. The hotel said yes, all is fine, but when we arrived they had booked us out to a sister hotel. This would be fine had they told us this initially, but then it got worse! The first hotel they showed us was 'under construction' and not maintained at all, the rooms smelled bad and they were damp. We said no and then we're taken to the Hotel Sunstar Grand! Nothing Grand about it at all! We were greater by staff that did not know anything about our arrival and then they showed us a room that had no windows, was noisy and miserable. We had constant interruptions in the night from staff being noisy on the terrace above our room. The wifi did not work after staff trying to resolve it several times. Then breakfast was just disgraceful. 5 minutes to make a coffee with instant granules and hot water. No milk available for cereals and staff that just didn't know what they were doing! Checking out we cancelled the rest of our stay and then got into a mess with reception about the payment from! We are glad to have left and I would advise all staff to do so too, this is not a great career!! Find a better hotel with better management! Never book into these hotels unless you are desperate, but don't expect too much!

We stayed at this Hotel on 3 different occasions and the service was excellent. The staff were attentive and the rooms were large and quiet. The beds are comfortable and breakfast is sufficient. Well recommended........

Hotel is a lovely hotel, staff are wonderful who went out of they way to accomodate our every request. Also i adjusted my bookins here and no charge was added for the days i cancelled as i had to go home before hand as my dad took ill. Hotel is also nearby 2 private hospitals and market with street shops as well as branded stores. Had a lovely stay here . Staff were excellent.

I stayed at " Hotel SunStar Grand " on my first visit to India. New Dehli can be overwhelming for first time with city being so busy and fast paced. The management are very accommodating, professional & helpful putting my mind at ease. The hotel is fresh, clean & extremely comfortable. The staff certainly went the extra mile making my stay memorable & lovely. Definitely will visit again - : ) !
