Nice hotel, terrible management Nice hotel, terrible management

by HeatherHoelzlein on February 24, 2017

We unfortunately had a terrible stay here. The hotel is nice and modern, but be careful that they give you the actual room you pay for. We were guaranteed a certain square footage for the room we booked for myself, my husband and my friend on a cot and when we got there the first night we found ourselves in a much smaller room. We spent the night there and found out that the heater for the whole hotel was right above us humming and rattling all night long (despite it being warm and needing air-conditioning). It was crazy how loud that room was - I sleep with earplugs and the noise still woke me. None of us slept well and we were uncomfortable sharing such a small room. Even for two people it was tight. The next morning we complained about the size and noise in the room and the front desk argued with us that the square footage we were quoted for the room was factoring in a shared patio. ???? Very questionable. Finally they agreed to move us over to a room they promised was exactly the same cost/quality. Our second room was MUCH nicer than the first in every way (bathroom, higher ceilings, much larger, quieter) which made us feel even more that we had been cheated our first night - paying for a much nicer room than they actually gave us. Their "deluxe"/other qualifications that they give their rooms are very random and don't relate to the size or value of the room, so watch out. To top things all off my husband got food poisoning and when we asked for a late check-out on our last day, the manager started to engage in a bidding war over how much he would charge us for late check out. The manager himself refused to speak to us but instead communicated through his poor front desk receptionist who was kind but powerless. I think she felt for us and my sick husband and at one point volunteered to pay the late check out fee out of her own pocket since her boss was being so unreasonable. I told them at the front desk that we were unhappy with the service and I would be writing this honest review and was told "we don't care about TripAdvisor reviews, we only care about money". Shocked, I left the front desk, only to have them call my room and beg me to write a review with full stars and glowing comments. All in all, the building was nice and the rooms modern but the business model shady, predatory and apparently abusive of its employees. Stay here at your own risk.

Would recommend! Would recommend!

This hotel is located in a nice area of New Delhi in a gated community. The location was ideal for us as it was a much quieter, cleaner part of Delhi. I did find the hallways and the hotel itself were very noisy until late in the night but fixed that problem with ear plugs. We were able to taxi or rickshaw everywhere from the hotel with very little hassle. The food is good, the breakfast isn't too bad either. The staff are all very nice and friendly.

It was so nice to arrive here after a long overnight flight. We were checked in really quickly and met the owner who was very helpful and a really nice guy. It's located in a pretty upmarket and quiet area in Delhi, but near to all the main sights. The area has some great bars, restaurants and shops very near by (5 minute walk). The rooms were very comfortable. I would suggest booking a room with a view over the park, we didn't and wished we had. Great service, lovely people and I would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Delhi.

Far from the chaos, it is an oasis of quiet and peace. Good spot to rest after one day in the mess of Delhi. Staff is super friendly, rooms clean and confortable. Only the breakfast is average. Recommended
