To me, this hotel is priceless, but that is neither here nor there. My twin daughters were born around the corner at Fortis La Femme Hospital and were two months early, so I ended up staying in this hotel for almost two months. The last two weeks were with the girls there. Needless to say, this hotel will always be special to me. My heart would give it 10 stars (circles?), but realistically it is a solid hotel that offers really good value.
The staff were amazing. They understood my situation, and were very helpful, including helping me with baby supplies up, catching a tuk-tuk, or spotting my Uber car. The front desk was very attentive with laundry service, and good knowledge of the area.
The breakfast was decent, but it is more or less the same. If you want something different, a walk to M-Block Market is only 10 minutes, but most things there do not open until 8am. While the hotel showed some wear and tear, it never felt dirty. The staff do work hard to keep it up and you can see the cleaning every day.
The shower is strong, and the safe is large enough for a laptop and more. One thing on the shower, is that the note in the room says hot water is readily available between 6-10. However, I found that it is not always available at 6, but it is at 7 always available. After 10, the one time I took a shower, I could not get hot water even after waiting the 20 minutes it stated.
It's close to the airport in that you can sometimes wave to the pilots, but by car, plan on 30 minutes outside of rush hour, or 60 minutes during the day. The hotel seems an interesting mix of people as guests, and there are several hotels along this road, but the locals I interacted with suggested this was the best.
As others mentioned, there are numerous food options nearby, on foot, and the neighborhood is generally fine, just lots of harmless dogs having a layabout.
Room 303 was my home for many nights, and I like the room as it is set back from the main hall. No view really, but if there is noise in the hallway, you're less likely to hear it.
Room is good. Basic amenities are okay. Wifi is good. They just need to focus on breakfast. Overall stay was good. Owner himself ask for the comfort level and reviews. Nearby food joints and a small mall.
stayed here for 5 nights. in type 2 rooms (they call it executive/delux ! or something ,dont really remember) good for single occupency. Standard rooms are really small ,make me remember my hostel cot but modern look n feel with most of the business class hotel emenities. Rooms are moderatly spacios, clean. Staffs are good. Located on the main road at GK2 E block, no doubt a prime location with ease in accesibility; absolutlely no issues with conveyance. Complementory breakfast is not that great , very limited choice of items but quality is good. Value for money ? I guess it could have been 20% cheaper. Overall OK - GOOD experiance.
Pros. Small but nice property at good location. Quick check in. We could park our car bang opposite the main entrance. The hotel security person was very helpful.Lot of eating places accross the road. Room service was quick. staff was helpful.Traveller's basic needs are tacken care off. Rooms are good toilets are good.
Cons.Unpleasant Front office staff. They could smillingly connect with guests.Room service and house keeping staff should get fresh dresses, The toilet towels have seen there good days.Pillows can be improved.Room light (cove light) and Toilet light function together.Break fast is tastey but variety is very minimal, A bit of continental food can be added to encourage foriegn travellers. We ordered Masala chicken and Chapattis for in room dinner, it was so delicious , we repeated the same order the next day, It was totally different, The chapattis were of maida and not Atta and chicken gravy was so sweet we had to leave it,May be it was out sourced. These are the small issues which can be improved very easily and property ratings wouldl improve.
Although New Haven Hotel in New Delhi is small in size, it is huge on friendliness, hospitality, and service. I truly felt the staff were dedicated to providing personal service to each guest. Most of all they enjoy being helpful.
