we arrived in delhi and found this hotel to match our budget. this hotel was listed in quite a few places including incredible india. on tripadvisor it seems to have good reviews so we went ahead and booked it. the problems started right there when we were first told that we had a confirmed booking and then last minute we were told that we had to pay a 50% deposit. the hotel is mostly located in a quiet place which is very very important for us. it is mostly a residential place which kept us away from the noise of delhi. now coming to the service - we got our room which was okay but there were no towels. we had to ask three times to get the towels. the food was okay and not very spicy which was nice. but everytime we asked for room service it took a very long time. we finally decided to not eat here and go to the nearby restaurants. thankfully we didn't have to stay in delhi for long as we were starting our hill station tour. not recommended.
A friend and I stayed at the Petite Hotel for 6 nights at the end of January. Like any accomodation around the world you hope the internet webpage matches reality. With this Hotel we were not dissappointed. It is a converted large former colonial home with 8 rooms. The rooms we stayed in were clean, homely, with hot water (from room boiler) on demand and satelite TV with a decent selection of english speaking channels. The beds were comfortable and clean. The staff were extremely helpful even if their level of english wasn't great. The owners themselves have perfect English. The area itself is really quiet for a city suburb, so it's perfect if you wish to stay away from honking horns and crazy traffic. The Civil Lines metro station is only 10 minutes walk away, giving you near total access to Delhi. The price per night is extremely competitive. Our breakfast was served exactly as requested. The only (Western orientated) gripe I had was the lack of a shower curtain. Poor me. Overall, definately worth a look. AG
I can't praise this hotel enough. It is such a lovely hotel! The location is also very nice (now, you can't catch auto rickshaw/taxi on Flag Staff road, and the area is residential. However, it is extremely quiet while only 5 mins away from 2 different metro station). Let's start with the overall hotel. It is extremely, well, quaint. Really cute! I woke up to the birds chirping everyday (imagine that! bird singing in the middle of Delhi). It also has a small garden that we had tea in. The neighborhood is high-class residential, so I did not see any strayed dogs (did see some strayed monkeys from the nearby park, though). The room is HUGE! We stayed in the Empress room (which I would actually called a suite). The dining table can sit maybe 12. The decoration is quite quaint and lovely (I was tempted to use the displayed tea sets but my girlfriend told me off T_T). When I checked in, it was spotlessly clean, too. Unfortunately, it seems like you need to request for room making everyday, but I don't mind. Given the price (it was about Rs4000 or roughly $60 a night during Nov 2013), its value just cannot be surpassed. Lastly, the service is excellent. You know how every hotel people keep doing their tip asking dance? (like, this is the light switch, this is the water, etc.). Well, the guys here didn't even bat an eye when serving us (take us to the room or bringing dinner in). They just did their job, then got out. No dancing, no stupid question, only excellent service. I just loved loved it. Some cautions. First, the toilet is Indian style (aka they use a kinda stinky disinfectant; toilet for washing not wiping; no tub in Empress suite). Second, the sound proof is kinda lousy :-(. Third, remember to arrange your transportation ahead of time (esp. if you have luggage). There was no rickshaws/taxis around. Lastly, the hotel is kinda hard to find, so be careful. That said, these are nothing compared to the cuteness, the room size/comfort, and service. Plus, again, the damned room was $60, and it was extremely nice.

I stayed at Petite Hotels in February 2013 during a business visit to Delhi. This B&B is comfortable, ideally located in heart of City, conveniently located near Metro. Location is very good away from Delhi noisy roads and traffic. Stay was homely stay with good simple breakfast. Rooms are spacious, requires some renovation.
