What struck me as most amazing was the poor and arrogant service. For a hotel in this category, I thought that good service should be something that one could take for granted. Alas! That was not the case. It is tough to decipher what Shangri-La's true motives are. But, I did observe that their behavior was much better with foreigners than with Indians. If this observation is indeed reflective of how Shangri-La functions, it makes me sad.

Good value for money in its category (5*). We could get an extra bed. The 'Club' facility was marvellous - an excellent view. Breakfast was good and the Happy hour generous. Quality of drinks left nothing to be desired. All staff were courteous, the ameneties in the room were thoughtful and of good quality. Bed very comfortable. All in all an enjoyable experience in luxury.

The room was clean and spacious with all the basic facilities. Staff are fabulous in their service. The options are awesome.

This was a nice, clean, hotel with a comfortable bed. Food was pretty good but expensive. Staff was good. Several restaurant options. Overall we were pleased with our stay and would recommend the hotel to others

We looked at several hotels and inspected the reviews for Shangri-La as we have stayed in Sydney at same hotel and we were surprised for some of the negative comments while they were renovating. We found the Shangri-La superb as always with impecable service and with a willingness to make your experience a perfect one. They presented with fruits and drinks in our room after new checked in. Free breakfast was included at the fancy Tamra restaurant. Talk about a feast for breakfast. The best I have seen so far. Location is fantastic, with walking distance to many of the touristic places. For a real Indian experience grab a touq-touq (don't know if you spell this way) that are sitting right up front of the hotel and the experience is unforgettable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Yes it is pricy but what can you expect for a 5 starts hotel? You certainly get what you pay for: Excellent service, awesome food and a fantastic room.

A comforting hotel as a home away from home. Great food, awesome decor and top shelf service! The welcoming and special attention by Kuku and Diksha the front desk made a welcoming experience each day! The atmosphere and hostility at the Horizon Club was a relaxing evening each and every night--Megha is a exemplary employee and a great advertisement for the Shangri-La experience! I look forward to the next visit!

I visited this hotel for a company presentation , to be followed by cocktails and dinner. It was a little gathering compared to a full fledged conference . On a query about availability of wi fi , the waiter did not bother to inform me , even after confirmation from his senior . The snacks served were rather bland and cold . The paneer satay was not hot and so was the chicken malai tikka . The waiters serving had a lost look on their faces and it seemed they were hired for the evening. Only face saving was the fish fingers . The main course looked good but again the cold food spoiled the show . The mix. veg in the European section was not hot . The gulab jamuns were cold . It seemed that this hotel had a no care attitude . On the whole it was a poor show by a five star hotel
