I stayed At the Shanti Home in New Delhi Feb 6 - 11 . It was A Wonderful Experience from start to finish !! Everyone was So Nice and Helpful!! From the moment I arrived being Great in the traditional Indian manor of a flowered Necklace. They took Wonderful care to make sure my Stay in Delhi was Memorable! They arranged a car and driver to take me to Agra for the day to see The Taj Mahal. They Also arranged a car and driver for my days in Delhi ( this is the only way to get around Delhi don't take the metro ! To crowded!) The Rooms are very spacious and well designed !! ( I had The Bollywood room !) Wonderful breakfast! and a Good restaurant for dinners This is my Home in New Delhi!!
A wonderful place to stay! The Shanti Home was SO accommodating to our group. They did not care that one of our flights arrived 2 am in the morning, someone was there to pick us up and take us to the Shanti Home. The staff was friendly, professional and helpful! The rooms were large in size, very comfortable to stay in and were clean. Our driver was AMAZING! He was funny, kind and patient with us. The rooftop terrace was a nice surprise and it felt cozy and comfortable. A great hotel!
We stayed for 2 nights at the start of our trip to India. The hotel was further out of Delhi than we had realised, it was not a bother as we had a driver, but I would say it is no quieter here than central Delhi. The rooms are adequately sized with dark wood furniture - our bed felt like a super king size and was comfy, although the room was rather lacking in natural light. Bathroom had shower over bath tub, fluffy white towels, toiletries and hair dryer. Room also came with free bottles of water, empty fridge and in room safe. There was air con and a heater, but we did not use either. There is a shared living room on each floor with a TV, if you need one. Nice touch like a laptop free of charge. Wifi worked ok, we only managed to connect one device. There is a yoga room with mats and you can hire a yoga teacher for an hour if you so wished. There is also a room for massages. The best part of the hotel was the roof top restaurant. Nicely set out and the food was great. We particularly enjoyed the tandoori paneer! Thought the alcohol was expensive - we just ordered without being provided a drinks list, so were very shocked at the bill, so make sure you ask the price first! Breakfast was great, with cereal, fresh fruit, toast (white or brown) freshly made orange juice, eggs cooked how you wanted them, crepes and Indian breakfast option that changed daily. Plus good range of tea and coffee as well. All the staff were very nice, except the guy on reception during check out who could do with working on his customer service and interaction.
Stayed for two night with my daughter during our tour of the Golden Triangle. Shanti Home is the perfect home away from home when in Delhi. Close to the metro the rest of Delhi is only short ride away. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated, the staff is super friendly and you never forget that your in India when staying here. In the best possible way imaginable. Which was a point for us when we booked. The terrace restaurant serves great curries, actually some of the best we've had in Delhi. It's the perfect place to round up a day of intense Delhi adventures. We'll be back!
My partner and I stayed at Shanti one night to begin a short India holiday. Pick up from the airport through the hotel went smoothly. Great communication with hotel for booking and driver. Really a lovely boutique hotel with a rooftop cafe and lounge. At check in they aided my partner (and another guest) on a quest for rupees during the currency crisis and no ATM access to get cash. I spent a quiet afternoon in the very nice yoga studio in Shanti practicing my asanas while they did a crazy bank search. The property is very nice. Clean room, decent size for one night, comfy bed, hot water, bottled water, cookies, extra window shutters to try to muffle the 'Delhi honking' street noise, separate lounge area on each floor, excellent breakfast meal and service. Had drinks and dinner on the rooftop terrace. Really a pleasant friendly atmosphere in a small, intimate property. I did not explore the hotel surrounds but based on my taxi ride in and transfer out the area seemed decent. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation based on our short stay and nice treatment.
