We visited for one night on arrival in Delhi and the hotel didn't impress us at all. We were due to return for two nights at the end of our Golden Triangle tour, so gave it the benefit of the doubt that it would improve and that tiredness had given the initial bad impression. It didn't improve on a second visit! From speaking to other people, your impression will probably depend on the room you are allocated. On both occasions we were on the 3rd floor where the rooms are dark, heavy, depressing and not 5* standard by any means and in need of refurbishment. The bed was the most uncomfortable I have slept in for many a year, the mattress being worn so that it sags in the middle - this led to me walking the room half the night with back ache and having to ask the Concierge in the morning for a paracetamol. The first view was of concrete and the second view was over a back street with more concrete. Staff are, on the whole good and range from the very helpful IT chap Hari to the downright rude breakfast Maitre'd who needs some training in customer skills. The breakfast itself was dire. A toaster that doesn't toast even after the bread goes through twice, poached eggs that only taste of vinegar and are raw when cut, no milk for the cereals, meat and cheese that is not replaced and the few scraps that are there are dried out and unappetising. A chaotic system of having to write in a book what eggs you want was part of an overall shambles. The public areas are not terribly inviting, the small bar tucked in one corner is not atmospheric and the system of getting to the outside pool quite bizarre, having to sign in and having to go through the changing rooms. I could go on and on but the Sheraton New Delhi is nowhere near a 5* and hardly classes as a 4* property. Add to this the cost of internet on a 24 hours basis and the fact that the front desk tries to convert your invoice into pounds sterling at their own exchange rate rather than charging it in rupees speaks volumes. We certainly won't return and will avoid ITC/Sheraton hotels from now on. Disappointing in the extreme.
Excellent hotel. Very nice staff. Some
Of them, highly educated and very strong family and higher education background.
Rooms are updated and outstanding decoration and comfort. Very good breakfast. Especially I like to mention Ms.Sonam Sharma from Front desk as a public relations staff. Remarkable professional with incredible family education. Very fine manners which make customer very comfortable and confident at this beautiful Sheraton. Sheraton and Ms. Sonam mean satisfaction guaranteed.
I was in New Dehli for a conference related to my aera of business, and was delighted by the quality of service offered by the hotel.
It all started with the welcoming behaviour of the front desk attendees, one of which (Sonam Sharma) graciously shoed me to my room and made sure I was all set for my sojourn in the Hotel.
The conference was a success, largely thanks to the quality of the services and high professionalism of staff.
I recommend this hotel as one of my top places to stay in Delhi.
We stayed at Sheraton New Delhi, with a 2-nights package, but were really disappointed with the level of service we received at the hotel.
At every single step, had to follow up for the package details we have bought. It was quite inconvenient and time consuming. Hotels like ITC brand do maintain the full details of the customer, even of he is traveling 10 yrs later.. and all the package details were available at the reception, during check-in, but no other deptt. or restaurant was aware of this. and took hell lot of a time to clarify the things, that too after repeated reminders.
The dinner experience at Dakshin restaurant was the most pathetic experience. This would have been the worst dinner I had ever in any hotel.. Even a grade B roadside restaurant might serve a better dinner.
I raised the complaints and the head chef and duty manager do visit me, seeking apologies, and offered me another meal next day.. but the situation was disappointing, we didn't like taking the obligation.
Housekeeping too was very poor.. you ask for something, and it was delivered after half an hour. you just keep waiting for this.
I was in India for a business trip for 2 weeks . But before going back to Belgium , i stayed 2 days in Sheraton Delhi. This was such a good stay :
- perfect location , next to an impressive mall
- good room , very clean
- good food
- i will always remember the people who made my stay unforgettable. Especially Vandna ; She was there to feel me comfortable. Such a beautiful person, in every possibel meanings of the world. Just class !!
