After the train being late (a 9.5 hour train was a 20 hour train) I ended up missing my plane to Kashmir and had to get a hotel for the night in Delhi. When I arrived at the hotel i asked if they had a booking in my name which they said that they didn't ,I had to call a friend and get him to speak to the hotel and after about 10 minutes I had a room sorted everything seemed OK. That evening I went out into Delhi and had some pretty dam good food and a quick drink ,after that I headed back to the hotel and that's when it started to go down hill. When I got back I was minding my own business ,just relaxing outside and watching the world go by when the hotel staff called me in ,I had a chat with the guy at reception (this was at 9:30pm) and he got pretty pushy ,he wanted me to leave a good review for the hotel ,he wanted me to sit and do it in front of him and I was saying "I'm making a diary and when I get back to England I would be happy to" (and I was) but after he got more and more pushy about writing a good review in front of him I refused and then when I told him I'd already booked my own taxi for the next morning to take me to the airport ,he then tried to tell me there was a booking fee for canceling a taxi I didn't want him to book ,I'd only asked if it was possible early that day but not to book it ,he was lying to me about the fee and you can't have hotel staff lying to there customers you need to be able to trust them. I thought that I would leave a proper review about the hotel. I wasn't gunna leave a bad review but after a member of staff had been pushy and lied to me I went and had a look around to see where the hotel was not keeping up to its promises. My room was 305. They claimed to have wifi in all the rooms but I couldn't even send a simple massage on what's app and I had to pay for 4g internet on my phone which wasn't cheap , they also claimed that they had running hot water whenever I needed it which wasn't the case I waited for an hour and had to call the hotel staff to sort it out for me ,they had several power cuts throughout the day and I don't mean 1 or 2 it was in the double figures ,I know hotel staff are meant to be there for you anytime you want but the key is not to pester you or been seen but always be there for anything you might want but this was not the case (I have worked in hospitality and catering for 15 years ,i know how staff should be and what there have to do) I had members of staff knocking on the door every half an hour to an hour asking if I needed any food/snacks/drinks which just felt like they were pushing you too buy anything or just an excuse to try and get another tip out of you (I'd had ordered food already earlier) but the guys on reception had enough time to play card games/poker on the hotels computer in reception. Even when I was able to a shower they would knock on the door and tell me how a t.v remote worked or how to turn a tap on and then waited around with that look of "give me a tip" as I was standing there in my towel it was so off putting ,the shower head was green with lime scale so not doing a good job cleaning ,the walls where full of damp/mould and black streaks down where the wallpaper joined and just had sellotape stuck over it ,they were giving there guests out-of-date beer which was warm and at 250 rupees plus 10% tax on top there should be making sure it's to the best standard ,the food was bland ,I asked for some Chinese noodles which had none of the actual ingredients in it that made that dish want it should be ,it was like someone ordering a pizza and the chef cooking you a burger ,there just put what they wanted in it you couldn't tell what it was meant to be. All in all the hotel on the front of things looked and sounded great but what I got was a lot of empty promises ,bad staff and lied too.
Really nice hotel, very good bed and a good warm shower!
Room was really clean, breakfast was good.
Close to the metro station and close to a big market street where you can eat and do some shopping.
Would recommend this hotel for your stay in Delhi.
Went there on our own, searching for a quite cheap and clean hotel located just near where we wanted to shop; karol bagh. Rooms were ok and service was good. Just that we had to call the reception whenever we had to take a hot shower for them to on the motor, but we got used to it. Response was always positive. Staffs were helpful and kind. Good and safe budget hotel. Will definitely choose to stay there again next time we go shopping to delhi.
I had stayed in sisley hotel in 3days nice experience room was nice food quality tasty and delicious all staff helpful and kindness people receptionist people was not than helpful. Nice 3 star hotel in Karol bath.
Stayed here for 1 night with the family and was the worst experience ever. Although a little tired looking, rooms were passable so we booked. Checked into our room to discover the heating was not working. It's the middle of winter and with 2 small children, this was far from ideal as it was so cold!! On top of that, they had no hot water, it was like we're living in the ice ages!! upon questioning, we were told they had switched off the motor and will turn it on for us. Next morning, we find there is still no hot water so question it again, again we are told they will switch it on. Half hour later, nothing, furious at this point, we question again to be told the boiler broke down last night! Hotel was happy enough to take the full rate from us and refused to offer any refund for the inconvenience. They even tried to charge us for mineral water, which all other hotels had offered to us for free! Upon being given the bill for the water and tea, I refused to pay it as I advised I was unhappy with the service and I refused to take up their complimentary breakfast. Guy at the desk was happy and quick to take my refusal to pay the bill making me think that they were trying to hide something. Be wary if you ever go downstairs to reception area in the early hours, my partner found them all just sleeping on the lobby floor, what a welcome!!! Also, the noise from the streets is throughout the night and the constant honking is rather annoying!
